  1. When the remap setting is enabled windows also needs to reassign the memory address range for each device. sometimes it can never do it properly unless reinstalled. A bit like upgrading motherboard and not reinstalling windows, it may work or there may be issues. Could just be windows?

If new, Place 1 memory module in the top orange slot Make sure that all 4 power connectors are plugged into the board - 24pin ATX - 4pin +12v P4 connector - Molex on top the chipset fan - small molex under the CPU socket And use a stronger power supply (OCZ, Corsair, FSP, Hiper, Tagan, PC-P&C, Silverstone) (1) At least 500W if you are going to buy one. (2) At least 450W if you are going to borrow one but it must be the above brands. If this is an old build that has stopped working, point (1) & (2) applies. Borrow if you can.

Just share the folder. - Then on ther other PC(s) go to my network places. - Press on search. - In the "Which computer are you looking for?" search field type the IP address of the PC which has the shared folder. - Press enter or search. - Wait and it will come up. They don't even have to be in the same workgroup.

  7. There will be a slight loss but it is not going to bottleneck the system to the point that you will notice a significant drop in performance. If you could compare 2x1GB @DDR400 with [email protected] (with the CPU at 2.9Ghz) you will be able to get an idea of how much you are losing. Should'nt be that much.

  9. Even without overclocking and slower timings (trc 11 and trfc 14)? If you really need 4GB then it is worth the loss.
  10. Uninstall the sound drivers and restart. When it gets into windows cancel the setup. Then in the device manager it should have a yellow exclamation mark.   12. Did you install over the previous windows installation/try to repair it or install with a quick format? And are you using an actual XP CD or using a backup/restore image?
  13. Hello, When you say you removed it, what exactly do you mean? Put it in an external enclosure? If the drive is not used/unplugged does your PC work? Or is windows on the SATA hard drive no longer working?
  14. Ask one of the local stores if you can bring the pc in and try a different power supply. Or try the 480W one when no one is looking
  15. Could be something causing it to hang such as the CD drive(s). - Unplug all the cd drvies and remove the IDE cable from the board. - If you haven't done so already use different SATA cables and see what happens.
  16. I have seen this a few times, when people enable the memory remap things stop working. Have you tried uninstalling the device, restarting then reinstalling it? If that still does not help you may need to reinstall windows. Is this the Nvidia or Marvell NIC? I shouldn't post late at night, sentences go a little bit funny

  18. According to his 1st post, a 620W unit from Corsair. The BIOS should have no effect on the PCI-E slots. If you can, borrow a low end gfx card and see if it runs in the top slot at x16.
  19. The tweaking never ends 704 is probably the highest rated BIOS for the nf4 board.

With the PC off. - Clear the CMOS for 10 minutes using the CMOS jumper. - Then move it back to the save position - Set the top PCI-E to x16 - And power the PC If it doesn't work, there is the possibility that it is not compatible with the PCI-E v1.0a slot. But that depends on the outcome of the the first question that I have asked.

  22. Temps seem ok but at load your chipset probably goes up to 50Dc. Your power issues may be related to the power supply. Can you borrow/test with another PSU?
