  1. If you read my sig you would see that my ram is at 2.8V. and I have tried every BIOS there is. To top it all off I flashed my BIOS earlier today in an atempt to fix my problems and the machine wonteven POST, it's dead. Good I say. Bye bye DFI.
  2. welp, i flashed the bios today in an atempt to fix my problems and the machine won't POST now....so I threwmy old Gigabyte back in and all is well. Honestly I'm glad the DFI is toast, it gave me nothing but problems.
  3. Have to agree with you on this one, I'n not putting a DFI board in my machine ar any clients of mine machines. Nothing but trouble!
  4. If I wanted a 333mhz FSB I would have bought a semperon. And since my Gigabyte motherboard could do it I know it's not a "cpu limitation" Thanks for the reply though
  5. Ok, I know I'll catch a lot of flack for posting this but it's all true so.... THERE IS NO OCing INVOLVED HERE!!!! I'm on my second DFI UT 250GB, the first one wouldn't detect my harddrives properly so the place I bought it from replaced it after their tech guy confirmed that the board was no good. . happens I know. Here's where I start to get pissed off:If I have ANY two sticks of RAM in the board I got as a replacement then it becomes unstable in SOME aplications (half-life 2, battlefield 2, booting from a norton ghost recovery cd....). at first I thought it was my RAM (OCZ palt rev.2, also my second pair of these because the first pair had a bent heat spreader on one stick and it wouldn't pass memtest 86), but it doesn't matter what kind of RAM i put in the board-with two sticks it'll crash on SOME applications. If I put any one stick in it's perfectly stable, but I'm a designer, i use photoshop and many other RAM hungry apps that run WAY better with lots of RAM, 512 is not enough for me. All of the RAM I have used in this board passes memtest 86, and I used to have this cpu in a Gigabyte board- that I might be going back to! I bought this board so I could OC, but it's not even stable at stock speads so forget that! Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

  7. tristancarton: U R THE MAN! i went to 4.12 and the game ran like it should. I played for maybe an hour, wich is about 100x longer than it used to last(if it even loaded the game). and then i quit the game (it didn't crash!) to come here and thank you. This was the only game/app that wasn't stable on my machine!!!!! your going to heaven man
  8. tristancarton: thanx for the links! My problem isn't that i cant get a high overclock out of the ram though, so far i have them up to ddr540 and i'm not finished seeing what they can do yet either. I just want to play the game! at stock speeds even, that game doesn't NEED a crazy machine to run it well at all.
  9. Hi Ryder, i went to change my settings to the ones you suggested, but on the second line, under the first line(200), where you have told my to "enable" i dont have that option, its a number value. i do believe its the CAS setting. Maybe the NF4 IS different from NF3. should i just ignore the "enable and follow what you suggested? making my settings: 200 2 2 6 2 auto auto auto auto auto auto auto auto enabled auto 0 5 auto auto auto disable 256 16 07 disable Please help.
  10. Thank you RYDER, I have to go out for a bit but i will try that when i get back. i edited my post above this...u might want to look at the info thanx again
  11. @ Ryder: When I overclock much, i have them at 2.8. TO CLEAR THINGS UP- thew game crashes @ stock settings, even if i loosen the timings and bump up the volts. I've tried upping every voltage there is one by one, it makes no diff. (I've played this game through twice with the same cpu and vid card- it ran great, its he motherboard and ram that are new-and get this: i've already had the mobo AND the ram replaced because they were BOTH obviously faulty GRR) I must face the fact that i have bad luck with hardware.... Thanx agian for the advice though guys, cheers.
  12. Hey thanx for the reply. I've tried many different memory timings, different slots, different voltages. The only time it works is with only one stick of memory..... I use xp media center 2005 and the only drivers ATI has is for it cat 5.1-5.4, and i've already tried all those
