  1. No OCing for a while, just want to make sure I am running stable first. I actually discovered now that 1gb dual channel is causing the crash. I can boot just fine on 512, but not 1gig. I can also boot fine on 1 gig single channel (one yellow, one orange)
  2. Well, I threw in some Kingston 512s, and I have not had a single issue yet. Now, is mixing different brands of RAM a bad idea?
  3. All DRAM settings are auto, how would I go about "loosening" my timings. Is this memory ok and known to be stable with these boards? It was fine when I had a 3200+ Also, it fails worse with one stick than the other - over 1000 errors in 15 minutes whereas the first was only up over 50
  4. Got the processor running last night with the Maxtor DiamondMax, but I found a new issue - Memtest is failing horribly. Within 15 minutes I have over 70 errors. Where do I even begin correcting this? It's PC3200 GEIL Dual Channel 2.5-4-4-8 2x512
  5. Turned out to be a HDD issue - I knew the DiamondMax series have had issues with nF4 chipsets but I finally managed to install to an IDE, update my RAID drivers and from there it allowed me to run the install on the SATA HDD.
  6. I have loaded optimized defaults - every time I try to continue windows install i am getting a BSOD stating tech info: STOP: 0x0000007E (0XFFFFFFFFC0000005, etc etc)
  7. It happened before the Maxtor, because the same thing happens with my old IDE drives
  8. #1, what is a shadow option #2, I am not trying to run RAID, and it hangs before it ever makes it to choosing a partition.
  9. I am currently attempting to install WinXP x64 on a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 SATA HDD - I recently installed an Athlon X2 4800+, and my system no longer cares to boot. I have cleared BIOS and tried that, but every time the XP install gets to Setup Is Starting Windows - on the blue screen, it hangs and will not pass that point. I have not reflashed the Bios, and I seem to be unable to install any SATA/RAID drivers for this HDD. Any ideas? I am stuck and extremely frustrated, as this will not even allow me to boot into windows on the old IDE drive either.
  10. Yeah - I thought it was Manchester too. To be honest - that's got me really confused. Check out my screen shot of CPUZ. http://i4.tinypic.com/24cdt6o.jpg As for the IDE drives Seandude, they're being replaced with Seagate SATA/300 160gb HDDs as of last night
  11. I just installed it and I will give it a try as soon as 3dMark 06 is done downloading!
  12. In my opinion, I would not buy an Ultra-X Connect. All they have been for most people is a problem. I used to own one myself, and my voltages were always off. I finally went for an Antec Truepower 24-pin instead of trying to pull off the 20 on a 24-pin trick. I just went from an Athlon 64 3200+ to an Athlon 64 X2 3800+ and the X-connect was unable to power my system sufficiently.
  13. There is no Dualcore Hotfix for XP Pro x64 as far as I have been told by DFI and AMD.
  14. Alright, well I just recently ran some upgrades and would like to know first of all if there is an issue with my BIOS, and if my memory could be a possible bottleneck to the performance of my system. I went from an Athlon 64 3200+ to an Athlon 64 X2 3800+, but never saw a huge performance increase. Judging by my system specs - what do you guys think? Windows XP Professional x64 SP1 480 Watt Antec Truepower 2.0 PSU DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ @1.38V 2x512MB GEIL PC3200 DDR-SDRAM 2.5-4-4-8 1x160GB SAMSUNG SP1614N IDE HDD 1x80GB SAMSUNG IDE HDD 1x250GB SAMSUNG IDE HDD ATI Radeon X850XT Everything is stock speeds - nothing has been OC'd... yet. BIOS is Award Workstation Bios V6.00 PG 04/06/2006-NF-CK804-6A61FD49C-00 Bios was flashed from files direct from DFI - yet SiSoft Sandra is giving me a notice saying SMBIOS/DMI 2.3 or later compliant BIOS is recommended. Is this normal or should I be looking for a different BIOS update?
