  1. Probley an easy question My computer goes to sleep after 2 hours and when it resumes, my oc is lost, normally i run 250mhz htt but on resume its down to 200mhz. Is it just a simple setting i change? thanks
  2. My S-ata disk, boot drive and only hard drive in the system appears in the lower right system tray under the safely remove hardware thing. Is this normal? Its not a big deal but i ask because it makes me think i missed a driver or something odd like that. i've never used s-ata before so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Missing banks ?

your going to have to give full system specs before anyone can help you, thier supposed to be in your sig.
  4. Howdy folks, I sold off the hynix in my sig and am stuck with 512mb of crucial 2700 at the time being. I'm looking for something that will do 250mhz 1T 2.5-3-3-8 or better, not killer timings but good enough. I'd probley like to go PC 4000 so i can rma without feeling guilty if it doesnt do 250, but i would do 3200 if its safe bet to hit 250. These DFI boards are pretty picky so i figured i'd post and ask for what people think, what ram people have had sucess with. I'd like to hang around $150 for a price. Thanks folks!
  5. Well geil has some PC-4000 at 2.5-4-4-7 for $131 at the egg, but i'm not sure if its going to play well, and was wondering if anyone else has found good stuff on the cheap.
  6. 727 , i need some good ram hynix just doesn't play nice
  7. Howdy folks My OCZ PC-3700 EL is rated at 2.8V's. I've been trying to run 225mhz but mem test comes up with 1000's of errors very quickly and i can't boot windows. So i upped my voltage to 3.2v's and the errors went down, but still around 3000 and i cant boot windows. So i'm a little peeved that i can't run 225 at 2.8v's. I am using the bios setting from the sticky post, and i have no idea what to do. Anybody have any clue? Does this board not like my memory? I can run it at 2-3-3-5 at 200mhz 2.9v's, but not 2.5-4-4-7 at 225. Memory is labled OCZ4661024ELDC-K
  8. i bet your running the 1/25 bios, it did it to me too, nab the new 3/10 bios and it'll be fixed.

    First overclock--How's it sound?

The only way to overclock the CPU and not the memory is to Raise the multiplier (which only an A64 FX can do) or run a divider, thats why you should run a 5/6 divider, HTT @250mhz x (5/6) = 200mhz Memory speed. By Defualt the board runs 1:1, meaning when you upped the HTT to 235 it ran the memory at 235.

most likely your ram stopping you from booting at 235mhz. Try to run a divider at 5/6 and see what kind of results you get, you could probley run a divder at 5/6 and hit 250x9 with 1.5v's fairly easly, but be careful and monitior your temps and slowly build you way up to the big numbers.
  11. i read that in the anand article but i thought the new nvidia drivers broke that.
  12. It fits a x16 card, but runs a 2x speed, just like a 16x slot runs at 8x in sli. Its phsycially keyed for 16 lanes, but runs at 2x in the standard config and when jumpers are set to SLI it runs 8x. You can check out the anandtech article about modding the ultra to an SLI, it show you that the second slot is 2x and what performance is lost (not much) by 2x mode. EDIT: I just tripled checked and i was right, check page 68 and 69 of the pdf manual in standard mode the config is top slot-1x first vidcard slot-16x middle slot-1x second vidcard slot-2x jumpers on sli it is top slot-4x first vidcardslot-8x middle slot-N.C. (dead) second vidcard slot-8x both configs give us the 20 lanes the nforce4 supports.
  13. I thought the top one was 16x and the bottom one 2x, and when in SLI mode they both run 8x, i remember reading the nforce4 chipset itself only supports 20 pci-e lanes, and that the new nforce4pro for socket 940 will support 32 lanes. EDIT: I just checked the manual and the bottom 16x slot does run at 2x speed in standard mode.
  14. Howdy Andy, its not TCCD but i have another OCZ memory kicking my butt on the DFI. OCZ PC 3700 EL, Part #OCZ4661024ELDC-K . Refuses to run 233mhz, doesnt go beyond 208mhz. Read about it here http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6684 any ideas as to whats the cause of my gremlins?

    Temps ???

    my cpu-z and temps Screenshot
  16. Howdy I have prime 95 running it the background and i get these temps from smart guardian CPU 40 PWM IC 47 and CHIPSET 47 everest reads Motherboard 48 CPU 47 AUX 41 this is my 3000+ @2.25ghz, its prime stabe for 18 hours, but i'd like to know what the temp really is.
  17. raceguy

    What temps do i trust

Well assuming the bios is right, (sure hope so) Smart Guardian is right what i learned BIOS CPU = SMART GUARDIAN CPU = EVEREST AUX BIOS CHIPSET = SMART GUARDIAN CHIPSET = EVEREST CPU EVEREST CHIPSET = SMART GUARDAIN PWM IC
  18. yeah, it might not be your PSU, the first time i fired up my system the CPU fan started then died, i paniced and killed it, but had saw the splash screen, so i grabbed a 3 pin to 4 pin adapter for the cpu fan, plugged it in, loaded the bios and found out it was set to not turnn the cpu fan on when the cpu was under 25 and my cpu idles around 25 at stock speeds. My fortron seems to be just blue, havent had it under a UV light but it doesnt seem like its UV.
  19. I'm using OCZ PC-3700 EL, rev 1, and its the hynix D5's and the max i can reach at 3.2v's is 208mhz. Patiently waiting for a new bios.

    Ultra-D overclock kicking my butt

yes, and pass memtest no errorrs, default voltage of the board (2.6). Also now i am on the 2/17 bios. cpu-z shot of the mem sorry for the size, no image editior yet

    Ultra-D overclock kicking my butt

that made it worse, lol. Memtest never loaded saying "expected interrupt- Halting" Everything is being done with a multi of 6x just to keep the cpu out of the equation.

    Ultra-D overclock kicking my butt

well i tried one stick at a time and both sticks fail, i gotta think this is something to do with the board. Both sticks ran 225mhz all day long in my old AN7. cpu-z shows a spd of 2.5-5-5-9. I'm going to try that, but i'm not optimistic.

    Loading 98 onto Ultra-D

never up and running, just to boot so i could run the cd-rom, it was missing drivers for quite a few things, and i turned off everything i could in the bios so 98 wouldnt have to deal with it. i've found some other people with the issues of the xp disc i have, its the "buy your dell now with windows ME and we will send you xp when it comes out disc", non of them have bootable disc either. I'm happy for now , but when XP 64bit edition comes out i'm going to buy it so i know i'll have a full operating system with non of the hassle of trying to "rig" my installation.
  24. Just got a new ultra d with a new s-ata drive. I need to load 98 so i can then use my upgrade disk to get XP. I can format the s-ata drive, it installs, but it hangs on the "running windows for the first time" screen. I have done all the bios settings in the sticky, execpt the vdimm because no matter what i do, it resets to 2.6v's. Any on have any clue. i'm about to download the 64bit beta and see if it will install. thanks!
