  1. I am clear that this is correct, but the BIOS does not distinguish between them in the same way...
  2. I have been having issues with RAID and BIOSs recently... I have been checking the most n00b things to try and figure this out. I'm pretty sure the ports located next to the AGP/CPU are the nvidia ones. So in the BIOS which SATA ports are the nvidia ones and which are the marvell ? (also how do they appears in the RAID config section). regards.
  3. I rephrase "How does the BIOS work for you ?" I beleive mine are at AUTO, the SPD of your RAM may cause it to beep on auto.
  4. these settings did not work for me, I was able to get thru XP setup and when it restarted to go into the GUI setup I get a disk read error. I also notice in my BIOS that whatever setting I try, "OS/2 > 64mb RAM" is always set on and I cannot disable it. Could this be a problem too ? regards.
  5. Ok, I will try this at next oppotunity. I now have 2Gb of G.Skill PC4000 HZ RAM (samsung UCCC ICs). Regards
  6. I ordered from there, got a Rev. A PCB... which I would guess isn't Rev. 2 board... (evidently because the 07/11/2005 BIOS it came with at stock has problems saving with SATA drives connected... PS. JayR_4 - how do you find the 12/19/2005 BIOS ?
  7. some s754 A64 core revision had problems running high density modules. namely rev. c0.
  8. Just got the DFI nF3 UT-D and I get an warning error message with the RAID enabled. It is only displayed briefly but displays something like:- "WARNING: cannot invoke.... ROM.... (VENDOR00xxxxxxx)" Also when I create a RAID it is inaccessible and windows, partition magic etc. can see the individual drives and the array... MBR/File System Table errors ? I beleive the ROM refers to nvidia RAID ROM.... Also I cannot change BIOS options and save with SATA drives attached, so I beleive that when I disconnect the drives and save the settings for RAID in the BIOS it may cause problems because those drives are not connected at that time. Current BIOS is 07/11/2005. Which BIOS can fix these errors ? regards.
  9. I read that the nf3 and nf4 DFI boards both support the same coolers. The nf3-250GB I had was compatible with the SLK-948u (listed on the thermalright site). Can someone confirm the nf3-Ultra-D also supports the SLK-948u ? Regards.
  10. I could read through near on the 90 pages of this. I wish to purchase one of these motherboards when theya re available here, I see a few of you already have them. Is some kind person willing to extract the important bits of this thread and compile them into a thread titled "DFI LP UT nF3 Ultra-D issues/info" which can be edited and updated as more information is available? man, 90 pages with a lot of non-informational posts would take a lot of reading time... regards.
  11. I just flashed from the 10/15 oskar BIOS. Now I set it up how it was, go to boot, get to my windows boot (when I select windows XP home or Pro from my dual boot) select one then it goes to boot and freezes. Tried again and it told me I hadnt booted properly, selected safe mode, gets to the bit where the list of drivers loading are displayed then freezes. I can't re-download the 10/15 BIOS to reflash because the link is broken Anyone help ?

  13. well, you almost answered what i was asking. similar setups to mine with different configs that I could try... but still I will keep testing. regards.
  14. currently at 250x10 (LDT 3x) memory at 9/10 divider = 225mhz 2.9vdimm and 2.5-2-2-10 cpu temp (according to mbm5) idle 41c and load 61c (I think the temps are reported 5-10c too high compared with my epox board) (heatsink temp idle 26c and load 32c) sys temp (according to mbm5) idle 29c and load 32c air temp in case (measured with probe) idle 19c and load 20/21c Now, I know this RAM can do 240 2.8vdimm 2.5-2-2-10 (in my old epox 8kda3+) BUT it seems it cannot do 250mhz at 2.5-2-2-10, 3-2-2-10, 2.5-3-3-10. Although it boots it these settings it stops half way to windows. Ideally i'd like 250 x10 1:1, so i will try 3-3-2-10 and 3-3-3-10, though, if i can't get the ras-cas at 2, i may try to keep my memory at 2.5-2-2 240. any thoughts?
  15. a sempr0n at 2.4ghz is not bad at all. don't forget, it's only got less cache than the a64 so won't be vastly inferior, lack of cache impacts a64 much less than it does p4s. good luck with the a64-3000 overclocking.
