  1. I've been looking around and I'm still not clear on what this option does. I'd appreciate any help you can offer.
  2. Are you saying that there is no hope. Cause I could get another 500MB/s bandwidth if I could get my comp to run a higher mem speed alog with the cpu.

  4. I've been working an OC of a venice lately. Here are my results but I need some help. 260 x 10 @ 1.53v according to cpuz Ldt 3x tccd 3-4-4-8 @ 2.9v all other voltages stock. temps 40c after 17hours of prime95 So all is pretty good at this point. So heres my question. My memory can take 315 fsb at same timings and voltage so I tried droping the multi down to 8.5 x 300fsb. but I never get past the cmos check. when I drop themulti even more to like 6 I can get into windows and prime for as long as I let it run which was like an hour. Not sure if it'll do more. What do I need to do if I want 300-315fsb x 8.5. I've even tried losening the timmings. The cpu runs at 2.6 and the mem runs up to 315fsb stable seperately but I can't get these numbers to meet and run together. The mobo is dfi nforce4 ultra

    DFI NF4 BIOS Memory Guide

  6. I'm having the same problem now. I think it is because I crushed the NB. The corners looked a little rounded and I can see gray on the corners which looks like artic silver. What does everybody else think? Why would it be the BIOS and how quickly could I get a new one.

    I've just implemented the mod and it does work. Make sure you use 25turn and up. I used 15turn and the adjustments are too sensitive. When I get 25 turn let you what results I'm getting.

    LPP 875B REV.B Droop Mod

    I haven't done yet because I'm visiting family for the holidays. Also I just got some samsung tccd mem on brain power rev.2 boards along with a ocz 600w power stream psu. I want to see what this does first but after that I'll do the mod. Happy holidays! peace!

    DFI Lanparty 875B Rev.B vMODS???

    There is a droop mod for the Abit IC7 Max3 which uses the same power managment chip as the LPP 875B Rev.B. There is more on this in previous threads.
  10. I'll try to do this before Christmas, but I'm also having PSU fluctuations on the +12 down to 11.5 which is bad. If I do it I can only assure you that the mod is compatible with the board. I still will need to improve my PSU issue to get that MAX OC and confirm that the mod helps. Also before I do this mod I'm going to pick up a magnifying light and some other little device that diverts the heat from the legs of the chip just to be safe.
  11. cornelious0_0 just write to woutertal at the OC forums he doesn't know me, but just write to him about the droop mod on the Max 3. Both boards have the Interisl ISL 6556BCB Optimized multi phase PWM controller chip and the mod involves only this chip. He will tell you its the same mod. Just let you know I'm also getting a nasty droop on this DFI board. Its a really frustrating experience especially since I don't know much about electronics, but I will be atempting this mod. I've been practicing on old boards In the end I'll take one last practice run on the same chip on my Max3 since it is already dead. It experianced the wrath of the dremel. Let me know how you progress with this board ans I'll do the same since we both pretty much have the same goals. Oh yeah one more thing when you use the Max3 are you using same voltage for your memory. Peace:cool: Oh and another thing you should put some active cooling on those mosfet sinks. You don't want to fry the board.
  12. Hey cornelious0_0 I've owned a Max3 and hadn't had much luck with hitting 4Ghz because of the same issue your describing with your DFI board. The problem is that Intel specifies a droop for some reason. I'm not sure why, but I believe you're going to get the same thing from Intel most boards with this socket. If your confident in soldering and electronics and stuff droop mod your board. This will give you exactly what you set in the bios so you can be very accurate in how much voltage is needed for a specific OC. The power managment chip on the 875b rev.b is the same as the one used on the Max3 and the Max3 droop mod is heavly documented in other forums. Follow this link http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=342409 You never know I haven't seen anybody with thier 875b rev.b modded yet so it could soar. Hope this helps peace:cool: When I wrote to woutertal at OC forums he wrote referring to any boards with this chip that (((Please note that the start-values to set the pots to will be different. At best. start with full resistance and work your way down.))) After Christmas I'll have this done and I'll let you know how it went if you do it before me let me know!

    Toaster Sigs for INTEL

    Why don't we use a non-animated sig with the devil running out of a computer case on fire. That would be cool. The only problem is that I have a lot of work to do before I hit 250fsb and get a toaster, but I'm working on it (new psu, tccd mem, and possibly a droop mod). Hopefully I'll join the 4ghz club and get a toaster sig.

    Maximum Overclock and AGP Voltage.

    The droop mod is the same as the Max3 droop mod. I'll post when I actually do the mod but first I'm going to have to find the parts and practice up on the soldering skills. Also I did measure a droop behind the CPU socket and there was about a .003 difference from what MBM was reporting. This is when the DMM was grounded to the molex connector. When grounded to the cpu ground there was an even bigger droop and a greater deviation from MBM.

    Lan Party Pro 875b -- Bios -- ???

    I also had a question about disabling bandwidth. Say you want to run different timings while using bandwidth. would have to disable it, change timings and then enable it?
