  1. AS5 is NOT conductive.

OK and is a capacitor a conductor or an insulator? :shake: Have you tested that personally with a mulimeter? Where did you get this info or come to this conclusion.

Never the less people have burned cpu's and mobos, and vid card by getting on the electronics. So I go back to my first question.... bottom line is it will fry your electronics due to electrical charges if let on electronics

  2. Just looked at some bios screenie of the dram config at legitreviews and it appears that have some good tweaks there just not quite as much as with the lanparty.

    Quote from legitreviews:

In the end, I have to say that the Infinity Series BIOS is one of the better BIOS' I've seen. As I stated earlier, it fits somewhere between the insane LANParty NF4 BIOS and the BIOS' included with budget motherboards.

  3. malinois1,

I already found out how to mod to SLI. I was worried that I would need to use a hacked BIOS or something. When the two pins are connected, will any SLI related BIOS features all of a sudden be accessible in the BOIS, or are there no such features?

Is it really just as easy as connecting the two pins? Nothing else needs to be done? No software/firmware workarounds needed?

I haven't been able to find any differences in BIOS between the Infinity SLI and UT Ultra-D. Anyone have any input in that respect?

    Thanks,

Nope no need for a hacked bios since the bios for the Lanparty series NF4-D, ultra-d,sli-d and sli-dr are all the same. In fact they all have the NF4 SLI chipset just the jumpers disabled on the chipset :) There are no bios feature to turn on SLI. You will however have to move the 6 jumpers between the pci-e slots though but you have to do that with the sli board also.

It is just as easy as connecting the 2 solder joints...that is all you have to do. In fact if you found (Thundas or Exroadie I forget ) post on how to mod them you could save a few more dollars by going with this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813136159

The only difference between this NF4-d and the NF4 Ultra-d is the NF4-d doesnt have sataII which can be modded just as easily ;)

  4. If I go with the NF4 SLI Ultra D, and end up wanting to use SLI, how will I get the SLI bridge?

I'll look into that board, and see what features is has that the Infinity doesn't.

Thanks for the tip. That board is easier for me to get than the Infinity.

    SLI Bridge at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814998001

I will look at the feature differnce also and chime back in. I think more importantly that the ultra d has a better bios. IMHO the ulta D is the best bang for the buck out there. I will try to pull up a link to the mod for you also :)

  6. Also, if I'm going to have to spend extra $$ on a new PSU, then there's NO WAY I can afford the Lanpary SLI-DR. The LP SLI-DR doesn't have any features that the Infinity lacks that I really want, at least I don't think so.

As long as they are comparatively stable and OCable, I don't need the uv reactive extras, extra LAN, extra audio connectors or extra SATA.

Does the LP have any critical OC features that the Infinity doesn't?

    Thanks,

Personally If you want to save money go with the Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra D. It can be modded to SLI so easy with just a little conductive paint no soldering required. It has more adjustments and voltage tweaks from what I understand. I do use my Ultra D in sig to SLI from time to time on benches. Just pull another 6800GT from my other rig :).

  7. Making Love

    The Italian says,

"When I've a finished a making da love withah my wifah, I go downa and gently

tickle the back of her knees, she floats 6 inches above a da bed in

    ecstacy."

The Frenchman replies. zat is noting, when Ah've finished making ze love

with ze wife, Ah kiss all ze way down her body, and zen Ah lick za soles of

her feet wiz mah tongue, and she floats 12 inches above ze bed in pure

    ecstasy."

    The redneck says,

"That aint .. When I've finished porkin the ole lady, I git out of

bed, walk over to the winder

and wipe my weener on the curtains. She hits the freakin' ceiling

  8. CMOS Checksum error- Defaults Loaded.

press F1 to continue, DEL to enter bios.

    the checksum error scares me.

Well if you just cleared cmos as you stated earlier "Defaults Loaded" is normal. Now press del to enter bios...then load optimum defaults then press F10

Also you will need to flash the bios to 623 to support that cpu...
