  1. Can the DFI Ultra D use a Maxtor 16mb SATA 150 w/ NCQ? I looked at the specs on dfi's website and it doesnt say anything about this
  2. There is something to be said about that "if it aint broken, dont fix it" If it ain't broken, you ain't workin hard enough
  3. how's that? and whats the "1,2,3" heatsinks sitting on? Also where exactly is the PWMIC at? I've done the search and there's mulitple locations said on this board. Thanks
  4. whats this heatsink sitting on, the last one in red and yellow circle on the bottom right hand corner? That damn thing is extremely hot, I was thinking it was the PWMIC but I did a search on here and people are saying it is otherwise. Also what is the other heatsinks sitting on the "1,2,3"? I'm gonna go chop up somd old heatsinks and swap it out
  5. http://home.earthlink.net/~dzungq/images/OMFG%20OC.jpg Just got it in less then 30 mins ago, all I can say is WOW. Havent tested for stability but i've been in photoshop and doing my daily stuff so far, no crashing.
  6. Yes I can install other programs and everything. Its just this cd for some reason. My cousin got the same board as I do and I used his cd as well. Same thing. Both CDs are in mint condition. I double click the executable file and all it does is spin, nothing reads though.
  7. http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NzE3LDc= I think I may be experiencing some of these symptoms. I have a Plextor SATA DVD burner and an old NEC DVD rom drive (IDE). I can burn a cd, install some programs and such from CDs on both my drives, however, when I try to use the DFI Driver/Utility CD that came with my mobo, it will not run. I can right click and open the cd and browse around but I can't install anything. When I double click the Setup.exe files I can hear the CD spin and that is it. The .pdf documents in the CD can be read though. Whats up with this? I'm currently at work and haven't had the chance to try this driver if I haven't gotten them already. I dled my drivers strait from DFI's site about 2 weeks ago.
  8. Just finished mine. Gotta install windows and such on it now. I check the NB temps in BIOS and its reading at 25c. I lapped the NB heatsink before putting it back on  I just installed the DFI SLI-D drivers and have th 218 bios. During bootup my board is recognized as a Nvidia SLI board but in windows it says Unknown. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
  9. Comming to DFI asking this is going to get you somewhat of a Biased opinion IMO. DFI is awsome for extreme overclocking and will also give you stability just like any other good board. However, if in the future if your rig is starting to get a bit sluggish, you can OC the hell outta what you have without spending a dime on new stuff, if your hardware is overclockable. You then would be happy and when your happy who cares what the rest think :cat:
  10. What if someone with the SLI board borked it? DO you gotta prove that you own one to get another? What if they lost it?
  11. I'd like to see this as well :cat:
