  1. Update: Removed a USB printer that was connected to the rig via USB hub and it booted normally. This isn't something new either. The printer has been hooked this way for some time now. Anyone have thoughts on this??? I'm stumped.
  2. Ok, I've had the expert board in Rig #1 of my sig running for over 2 years now. All of a sudden it won't boot past the initial BIOS screen and just hangs after detecting the CPU. It stops at 1 LED on the main board. Nothing changed out hardware-wise in I don't know how long. The only thing I can think of that is different is that I started using standby in XP. Problem reared its head after waking out of standby, changing the network name of the box and rebooting. I've already pulled power, switched off the PS, and hitting the power button, and waiting for 8+ hours. Is it time for a no-boot CMOS clear? Could it need a new battery? I'm aware of the potential problem with Expert that can happen when removing the battery during a CMOS clear, but what is the correct procedure for replacing in general? Thanks in advance.

    WTB DFI expert mobo

ewiz has them for $116US if you google "DFI Expert" and select the link at the top of the product search results. It's $119 if you just go through their site. Don't ask me why. They also ship internationally. Might be able to find one cheaper used, but if not this is the only place I've seen them retail in quite some time. Hope this helps.

    OCZ PC4000 2x1GB kit

Prefer OCZ5002048ELGEGXT-K, but would be interested in any OCZ, G.Skill, or Mushkin kit that will run well in an Expert board.
  9. Interested if you still have it. Are you re-attaching the heat sink? Let me know.
  10. Quick question on the CMOS clear, before or after switching out the old CPU for the new one? Or both?
