  1. HG, Message received and understood. So, this deal posted above is Your Milage May Vary (YMMV), and not really supported in any way by the powers that be. I will run these through the paces though on my own, and post the results in the other ref'd thread. Thanks! Dylan
  2. After reading many, but not all pages (over 1000 posts) in that thread, have you asked your 'friend' at Crucial if the new TD1's are in fact, THE SOLUTION? If not, I would have to not recommend this special at NewEgg for the everyday user here at DFI. Thanks, Dylan
  3. Yes HG, that thread was why I felt OK posting this deal, as it looks like the TD1 chips are OK. The last few posts in that ref'd thread showed that things are good now. I'm not a pro though. so I bought a pair of these and they will get here next week. I will test them out, but of course, as far a longevity is concerned only time will tell. (I have no stock or corporate interest in Crucial Ballistic, but that is a cool name, no?)

The only thing you will convert is Wevsspots GMT time. Don't worry about CDT PST or whatever, you will take the GMT and work from there.

Wow, it's kind of hard to explain, as you are across the date line too, but 'dates' aside, this is how it works. Wevsspot will post times coordinated to CDT and GMT/UTC (GMT and UTC are the same, GMT means Greenwich Mean Time and is in England). You are not -8hrs, as far as I know, you are PLUS 8 hours of the next date as far as GMT is concerned. I am minus 8 hours on the same date because we haven't crossed the international date line. In the following example I'll try and make it as simple as possible (considering it took me a long time to figure it out): Wevsspot says, let's play at 7PM CDT Wednesday, and he will post: 7PM CDT (1900 hours) (converting to military time, 1200 noon plus 7 hours) and 0100GMT/UTC Thursday (he or whoever wants to game will post BOTH local and GMT time. For you, after converting, would be 0900 hours/9AM in Singapore the next day, Friday. Take a look at this link, and you will get the idea. Remember, first convert to military time, like 0800 hours or 3PM like 1200 plus 3 = 1500 hours. Then, add or subtract depending where you are on the planet. Look at this link for help. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/gmt-converter.htm and others, just search for gmt conversion. 8. Except for 3rd world countries, America is the worst when it comes to broadband deployment to its citizens. To think that we led the world in having phones to almost 98 percent of the population to only 42% of broadband to the population. I get 1Mb down, 128Kb up at a whopping $50 a month, and no upgrade in sight, I even tried to upgrade to Business Class with Frontier DSL here in California, but they don't even have that at my locale. I'm in the sticks in a fairly new developement that does have its own remote switch. I'm going to try wireless access, but I'm afaid that my latency will suck do to the broadcast method of how bandwidth is spread around. Let's all move to Canada.
  9. Man, how come you didn't post the BLUE one also...darn it. BLUE at RS: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.js...rentPage=family Got it today! If you can, you can get free ship to your local RS store, but not here where I live. EXPIRES TODAY, 18 OCT 2006
  10. Not only at Radio Shack (RS), but also the Blue mid Ultra at FRYS, $0 plus shipping around 10 to 15 bucks (ships from Ohio I think): http://shop2.outpost.com/product/4997441 Hey, the manufacturer site: http://www.ultraproducts.com/product_detai...0&productID=250 does show it to have 120mm fan in the back!!! I've also heard that onrebate.com is known for denying rebates. KEEP COPIES of everything.

I'm sorry, but I won't be playing, as I god damn can't stop cursing, and if the players I'm with are not adult enough to handle that, well, I'm out. Sorry. ANd yes, I'm serious. (EDIT NV, I foudn the way to leave) Can you remove me from the XFire group for dfi, as I don't know how to do it. Thanks. No hard feelings, I just like to play with grown ups. (note to self, this is funny, because we're playing a game where you KILL, Blowup, shoot down people, but cursing is frowned upon. ironic)

  16. OK, just installed the 4800, stock 2411Mhz, was able to O/C to 2605Mhz. A bit more than my 4400 that was stock 2200, o/c'd to 2359Mhz because I had a weak core in it. Now, next on the list is getting my G.skill RMA'd as it has never been able to get past stock timings of 235Mhz instead of SPD value of 250Mhz. Many have gotten alot more than 250Mhz. Hopefully, I'm going to RMA the memory before Nov 22, and get it back by the 10th Of Dec, as I'll be on vacation. It would be nice to get 260Mhz and go 1to1 on the memory settings and change my cpu clock/multi to 260x10. Such is life. All you guys that are getting 2.8/2.9/3.0Mhz, consider yourselves lucky that you got the steppings and memory to do that. I'll take the E6600 adventure next year, can't afford it this year.

Evil-Fruits|R4zb3rry Does not work either? You sure you're a playa??? How about this one? : evilrazclairtsberry . For others, my XFire nick is [ZEBRA]Rake . Thanks. Do we even need a server to begin with, we can always just meet up on a server to begin with, and work from there. That way we can find out who is serious and who's just 'there'. EDIT AGAIN: Apparently, when you search [ZEBRA]Rake, it will come up empty. So, as edited on front page, try for 'Rake'. 2ND EDIT: that 'Rake' is NOT me. Try for 'faheyd'
  23. Does kubuntu do the software installer? http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing/ Load up Synaptic above, edit your repositories and search for ATI.
