  9. Glad to see you resolved your issue. Anyway I found my prob and it had nothing to do with memory or vga. Disconnected the primary and secondary ide channel and board booted. in process of determining what was bad either HD or CD or cables. So I guess the advice to run minimal when having probs is very good and sound.
  10. sorry if I'm intruding but I am also trying to boot a test setup and was gonna post a thread bout having 2 leds lit with no post. From response above seems that I would have vga probs. But I have tried 2 different pci-e and 1 pci video card, with no luck. Could this possibly be a a monitor or monitor cable problem??? Any suggestions??

  12. hmm don't give up maybe try lowering your cpu speed to check your ram ie instead of 9X250 try 8X250 something similar. Sometimes if you lower first you can go higher later. If that Ram refuses to run it's rated speed which should be 250 I'd RMA it. But all reports say it should be near 270-275.
  13. Don't mean to Hijack this thread so my suggestion is to check Xstremesystems.com in the bandwidth section. They have a coupla threads that feature settings for the OP's ram. On a side note I went from 200, 2,5, 4, 8, 4, 7, 14, 2, 2, 1, 2, 4708, 1, En, Auto, 7, 2, 8, Fast, 5.5, 256, Dis, 16, 7, Dis. 1:1 with CPU but unstable i.e. sometimes finishing Super Pi sometimes not and bout 1-2 hours prime stable. I then tried Darien's settings and was able to get my best Super Pi time and over 6 hours prime stable ( I stopped it). So try to find someone using similar parts as yourself and experimenting with their settings. Again thanks Darrien I was at wits end and tho your timings struck me as especially tight they proved to be the cure. Gabe look Here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=67762 and http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=83515 both give links to A64 tweaker screenshots.
  14. Just read this and had been struggling to get a pair of G.Skill 4800 stable at 300 HTT. Using Darien's settings ithey finally run at 300 stable. Apparently my timings were too loose. Was trying at 2.5 8-4-4 and all sorts of secondary timings. Had two kits of these and RMA one set which had ran and the above stated timings but one day just said hell no I won't go!.Anyway after over 2 months of trying I thought I'd have to run them on a 166 divider or RMA the second set. Anyway I'm so stoked got my 148 at 3.0 ghz 1:1 at the moment and I have had it at 3.5 previously with my first set 1:1 so I'll go to that next. All This to Say Thanks Darien!!!
  15. question for laydback. What bios volts and settings you using on those gskill fc. Got some i'm trying to get stable at 305 using bios 623-3.
