  9. theres the TRUE, Xigmatek-HDT1283, OCZ vendetta 2, sunbeam core contact freezer(rated #1 atm, yes it beated the TRUE), Zerotherm nirvana 120. i pesronally dont recommend zalmans...but that's just me..
  10. in my eyes, AMD's offerings for the home residential use is in the lower hands when compared to intel, IE, x2's and single cores cannot beat the intel's c2d chips, but when its business or server grade, the Opterons vs, the Extreme chips from intel, these two are basically on par. but when referrin to residential use, AMD offers their products in a much lower consumers expense. that's all. Both of these 2 companies have their good and bads. and as for the new Nahlem cores IMC, well guess what, amd has had that idea since the beginnin of the 64bits in this era, and i guess now intel just cant hold it anymore and had to take the "yes im copying ppl" blame now because that's how the future has to be ran.

    orthos issue..

well i've decided to use the new occt, 2.00A=== currently undergoing custom-infinite -mix test, see what i'll get *fingers crossed* and it indeed generates more heat, but for somereason the program still uses alot less memory compared to orthos and prime...

    orthos issue..

well i didnt change my multiplier, im using 10x which is the default..lol but i guess its been this way with my system even prior switchin to dual core, i had single core first and i remember it was pickin up the wrong thing anyway, so theres somethng wrong with my board or w/e? i dont think so, atleast it doesnt seem so but yea, will do prime instead then. =/ just weird that my new am2 rig, it picks up rightaway. and yea blackeditions rock ^ ^ 3.1 right outta the box. lol thanks for the reply wevs.

    orthos issue..

for some reason whenever i run orthos the cpu specs it produces is not the same as the bios setting, like i have my current rig at 260fsbx10 multi, but orthos would never pick that up and instead, it produces 192mhzx13.5multi, and i notice that depending on the value it generates on my system; stability test results are different aswell, when it generates 192x13.5 it'll fail after 2-3hrs, but if it generates 216x12 itll be stable for atleast 15hrs, ive yet to test it more than 15hrs...so 15hrs was my maxium stable time, and i'm just wondering if this is normal and has anyone else had this experience? i just put together a am2 rig, with 5000 x2 black edition, and clocked it to 3.1 outta the box and orthos detects my settings perfectly at 207x15. anyone help/comments are appreciated.
  20. this is resolved, wevs or any other mod can mark this as resolved, finally hit where i want it and 13+ hrs orthos stable.
  21. how do you determine whether your chip likes voltages or not? because i think mine does, seems like the more voltages i give the more mhz it gives me, but just because it likes it, doesnt mean i should really apply as much to it because it might just burn out my board aswell -.-! so ive orthos over night with 2.5ghz with mem 1:1 and 1.35v x 1.10special vid=1.48 volts total. and its fine. but thats not giving me any more oc'ing headroom with what i had with my corsair sticks before.. sigh...
  22. ive basically messed with all the settings there and most ive had was 2.6 @ 1.55volts and it crashed after 30mins of orthos. either that or i just have a really bad chip...and im really stuck on the DRAM drive strength and DRAM data drive strength, it seems that those 2 plays a big part on stability and ive tried every combination i can with what the 7/4 2beta bios provides.
