  2. How's this kingfisher? I went a little more subtle on the text color gradient than the previous... can put a little more on it if you like, let me know...
  3. If one worked for the Federal Air Transportation Airport Security Service, would they not be a FATASS butthole?
  4. 150 years ago, President Lincoln found it necessary to hire a private investigator - Alan Pinkerton for protection. That was the beginning of the Secret Service. Since that time, the federal government has produced a large number of multi-letter agencies such as: FBI, CIA, INS, IRS, DEA, BATF, etc. Now we have the " Federal Air Transportation Airport Security Service". Can't you see them now, these 'highly trained' men and women in their black outfits with jackets saying across their backs: F. A. T. A. S. S. The FATASS's are of course supervised by a special section of the Home Land Security Section known as: Airport Security Service Home Office Logistics Enhancement Section or the A.S.S.H.O.L.E.S. I feel safer already
  5. I registered, thanks likewhoa! Nothing like free! lol
  6. Oh you can be sure if I had $27,000 to just spend, there'd be a hell of a lot more in the bank that I didn't have to just spend, lol... yeah, you're probably right... but I'm still drooling...
  7. I thought about lapping the bottom of my chipset cooler, but honestly my unmodded cooler has my chipset idling cooler than most of the reports I see for idle modded coolers... maybe it's an airflow thing, maybe I just got lucky and got a really well done application... who knows
  8. No, you probably don't, but if I had $27 Gs to spend I probably would have anyway, lol... and yeah it runs Vista Ultimate and Linux... Dual 8800s...
  9. Hey everyone, just thought I'd see what you thought of my new sig compared to the old one.... the old one was a picture I took myself of part of the inside of my case, the new one is a screenshot of my current character in WoW... Old one The new one
  10. Check out this system! The link for the german site is http://www.pcwelt.de/news/hardware/70901/index.html  and all it cost was a lousy 20,000 Euros ($27,000) Tyan Tempest i5000XL (S2692), 2 x Intel Xeon 5355 Quad-Core, 4 x 1 GB Corsair registered PC667 FB-DIMM, 2 x PNY Verto Geforce 8800 GTX mit je 768 MB GDDR3-Speicher, Adaptec 4800SAS/128, PCI-X, 4 x 147 GB Seagate Cheetah 15K.4 ST3146854SS, SAS, Raid 10, 4 x 750 GB Seagate Barracuda ST3750640AS, SATA II, Raid 10, Seagate Pushbutton External Hard Drive 750 GB, Firewire/USB 2.0, Bluray-Laufwerk Philips SPD7000BD, SATA, DVD-Laufwerk Samsung SH-S182A, PATA, PC-WELT H├Âllenmaschine II von Heiko Polaczek (nur Materialwert), Innovatek Triple Radiator, Tank-O-Matik, Eheim-Pumpe HPPS Plus, Flowmeter Pro 3.6 sowie CPU-, Grafikchip- und Festplattenk├╝hler, Enermax Galaxy EGA1000EWL 1000 Watt, Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition, Creative Gigaworks Progamer G550W, BenQ FP241W 24-Zoll-TFT, integrierter 8-Zoll-LCD-Touchscreen VE-XVT-8, Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate, Open Suse Linux 10.2, Logitech di Novo Edge Tastatur & MX Revolution Maus,
  11. Yep, Kaiserslautern is K-Town to just about everyone here... even half the Germans these days, lol... since you got BJ Barry on BigFM in Mannheim that can't make his mind up if he wants to speak German or English so he ends up speaking half and Half in each sentence, noone understands much of what he says, even those that speak both languages... anyway, he refers to it as K-town too...
  12. LOL @ I'm only very very slightly like 4 generations ago German... I'm working at Sembach Air Base... (used to be air base, now just an Annex of Ramstein, no airfield anymore)
  13. OK, went ahead an resized the sig and changed the color of the text a little so it's more readable... although I'm absolutely sure I read that 650x300 was the maximum signature size... but oh well...
  14. If you can't or won't get a heatgun for the heatshrink tubing, use a candle with a deep candle holder cup thingy (technical term all the way there). thats what I used and it worked great, especially if you hold heatshrink over the top and put a small glass over thaqt to trap heat over the other side too...
  15. Dude, get a can of spray paint.... eeeeewwwww to ugly old gray...
  16. I'm with General Septem here, turn your drives around and run the cables around the drive bay instead of through. I manages to get 5 drives in my acrylic case with a HUGE gap by doing this. Try using angry_games' templates and adding a fan or two to your side panel... I had one, and wasn't happy so added another, both blow right on my 7900GTXs... those with the one in the front blowing right through the gap have severely decreased my GPU temps... and stability! Don't buy something unless you really need it and are unhappy with your current case (i say this a couple weeks after spending over a grand on my rig that I didn't need :-)
  17. Just to add my two cents, I've done sleeving without the tools for years now, using a needle or my favorite tool that came with my Nokia N70 replacement cover that's designed to get the old cover off. As far as the molex pins never fitting as securely once you've removed them, bend the small metal pieces that secure the pins in the connector back out so they secure the pin. The only trouble I've had is when I bend them too far and they break :-) I just don't know my own strength.
  18. I'm near Kaiserslautern... working at Sembach Annex... Thanks for the welcome guys! (and girls?) As for the sig... is this better?
  19. New user here... thought I'd introduce myself... George... or AnUnknownSource. I know my sig is a little hard on the eyes... I already have a new one in the works... that was just a quick one I threw together when I made a forum sig a while back... Oh, one more thing... :spam:
  20. Hey everyone, this is my first post... have a question... I have what's in my signature, and I need a PSU... I'm torn between the corsair HX620w and the OCZ 700w listed at the top of the thread... would either one suit my needs? If so i'm gonna go for the Corsair even though it'll be ugly in my acrylic case I was looking at an Apevia but apparently they suck... so what's your thoughts... Corsair or OCZ keeping in mind there's about a $30 difference in price... I read the top of this thread... and skipped about 95 pages so this may have been covered... lol
