  1. After Reel PM'd be a couple of times I knew something was up. Then Praz called me and we decided that it was the massive pRon collection that doc and steve have been assembling that was causing the bandwidth drain. Since Travis had not responded to my PMs we were pretty sure that he had been captured by gypsies or something equally sinister. All the signs were obviously pointing to the conclusion that Sharp and the rest of the Brits were launching some type of coup. (forum time changed to GMT, pictures of Prince Charles as their avatars, links to Elton John's official fan website in their sigs, the typical tricks those crumpet munching, tea-swilling bastages pull) Kranky Old Lady's posts served to solidify our conclusion that she was part of the coup and Praz surmized that she was offering gifts of those little wooden shoes to the Brits and had asked to be appointed Viceroy of the Netherlands. I posted some crazy memory timings and since Sharp did not answer immediately we knew that he was behind it. Praz then modded his brand new X58 board for time travel and moved the entire forum to April 2nd and read the posts from today. We decided to keep "mum" and let the coup play out and take sides with whatever faction won. So NO! Neither John or I were fooled by any of this. Or this stupid cover story about an April Fool's Joke. Got to get up pretty early in the morning to fool the oldfahts.
  2. Little apples to apples here (kinda) ASUS Commando and an E8400 (with the help of a litlle LN2) New World Record of 5808.6MHz http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpo...49&postcount=27 we were laughing like crazed maniacs and were high-fivin' the schnitzel out of each other. Really exciting and rewarding. Check the pic. The system is at a Bus speed of 645 5FSB. It's not the board or CPU hindering your OC. Experiment with the timings. Relax the crap out of them if necessary. This is the bet as I understand it. You are a shoe-in. Don't be afraid to bump the Vcore. (Yukon I am still laughing http://www.diy-street.com/forum/showpost.p...35&postcount=13 ) little harsh, but funny as hale!
  3. Like ExRoadie I've lost drives from all manufacturers over the years. And the Maxtor drive problems from two years ago are probably one of the things that put them under. I too received replacement drives that failed their diagnostic program immediately. Current Maxtor products are just rebadged Seagates so they are solid. My personal preference is WD and Hitachi but it's really pretty hard to go wrong with any of them these days.
  4. I have never seen MBM5 working with AM2's. Sorry but I can't help you at this time. I would suggest Everest (www.lavalys.com) as it is what I used for my brief time on an AM2 board. Just a great program. I have recently purchased an ASUS Maximus (my 1st non-DFI in about 5 years) So maybe I'll get lucky and find something that can help you or others.
  5. Pics, Pics, Pics Nothing like good pics to tell the story. Waiting for the bright red glow.
  6. LOL, you crazy dutch. Praz means YES you will be fine.
  7. Welcome back KingFisher!
  8. couple of shots of Prime 95 running and immediately after it was stopped. Using Praz's recommendation of keeping Vcore at Auto and just using Special VID% increases. 2670 at Idle and 4005 when under load. Runs cool and quiet 95% of the time. Compare the Real Temps between the two. It was a 48 hour run so everything gets warm. Zalman CNPS9700LED cooler. The apartment is fairly warm cause I am an oldfaht and heat is included in the rent. The DTS sensors are a little wonky to day the least. I suggest using Real Temp and think it is far more accurate than CoreTemp/Everest with this chip. Core #1 will prime at 4200 at the same voltages but I can't seem to get Core #0 to Prime anywhere over 4100MHz no matter what the voltage. http://premium1.uploadit.org/soundx98//48-hr-Prime.JPG http://premium1.uploadit.org/soundx98//48-...ime-Stopped.JPG But there is no doubt these Wolfies rock. Xean E3110 is the same chip and TankGuys will have them in tomorrow for $199 (OEM) http://www.tankguys.com/product_info.php?products_id=1816
  9. soundx98: rado, how is the Master's coming? radodrill: (sort of a nod deal and passes doobie) soundx98: and how about the rest of the projects? radodrill: (same nod deal and takes another hit and coughs) soundx98: little problem on my end too radodrill: (the silent rado quizzical look) soundx98: I bought another Antec 900 case. We'll need two radobases! radodrill: (rolls eyes and another doobie) soundx98: Snagged it for $69.99 before a $25 rebate. 45 bucks so I couldn't pass it up! radodrill: (raises eyebrows) soundx98: And I picked up an ASUS Maximus Extreme for $29.99 radodrill: (raises eyebrows real high) soundx98: Well it's just the barebones motherboard and missing all the accessories. For $30 bucks I had to go for it. radodrill: (makes some undiscernable hand gestures and facial contortions.) soundx98: Yup, I know I'll need to buy some DDR3 and I think I've found something cheap but decent. Just ordered them last night. http://shop4.outpost.com/%7BRclToJ8x-vgx9D...product/5523230 radodrill: (another quizzical look) soundx98: well I heard a website was having a case modding contest and I wanted to get some parts together. Just in case I had time to enter. And you have time for another base. I'd like to get the "Twin Towers" thing going. radodrill: (hold up two fingers on one hand and 4 on the other) soundx98: I'm not sure if I'll go with another Dual Core or a quad core. Not even sure the board works yet. I talked with BlueAqua and he suggested that I bring it over to his place and we see how it does with a little LN2. He's got a laboratory on top of a mountain with a huge lightning rod and sheet. Last week he took his E8400 and ASUS Commando up to 5.6GHz soundx98: yep, got a sweet MickeyMouse pot and a little test bench all set up. Power supply and other nerdy stuff all set to go for a run. BlueAqua put me in charge of pouring the LN2. It was awesome. Needed to keep it at minus 120 C due to a cold bug. soundx98: So all the dudes at the street are ragging on me about updates. The DFI P35/e8400 rig is all set to go except for the base. And of course I'll need another one for the other 900 case. Still not sure if I'll put the DFI NF4 system in it or the Maximus. Dude I know you are swamped with projects but you can see the predicament I am in. Oh and the ladies said to say Hi! radodrill: (raises eyebrows very very high) soundx98: Did you know that G-strings can make great sling shots? Yup, I was firing fives at the club the other night. as they spun around the pole I'd let it fly and they'd catch them with their (.)(.). radodrill: (gestures wildly and stamps foot) soundx98: I'll tell you why you weren't invited to the Club or BlueAqua's. It's because you are too loud. You need to tone it down a bit man. radodrill: (gives soundx98 the evil eye) soundx98: let's hang out here for a while and decide what to do next.
  10. wow, it looks great. (actually a lot like mine but less crap) Give me a shout with dates you can make it up. My second bedroom is free for the next three months.
  11. I was at BlueAqua's house last week and we used a little LN2 with the E8400 on a Commando. Geez was I impressed with that board. Congratulations on the win
  12. We are in trouble... The population of this country is 300 million. 160 million are retired. That leaves 140 million to do the work. There are 85 million in school. Which leaves 55 million to do the work. Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government. Leaving 15 million to do the work. 2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama Bin-Laden. Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work. Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city Governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work. At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals. Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work. Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me. And there you are, Sitting on your butt, At your computer, reading jokes. Nice. Real nice.
  13. Sorry I missed this when it was 1st posted. Awesome work EB!
  14. Great to hear from ya Pat. You've been missed.
  15. Rig One: Logitech G15/MX1000 Rig Two: Logitech Corded Multimedia/Razer Diamondback Anyone with experience with the diNovo?
  16. BlueAqua had everything set up and ready to go so it was a matter of adding the insulation. BlueAqua is like 6'6" and his hands are huge so this pic is a little deceiving. (Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear!) Got some fans set up to cool the rest of the board. And then we started pouring the LN2. It started to cool immediately and I could feel the cold. Even though BlueAqua was very gradually adding the LN2 the temp dropped to MINUS 33 very fast. So we kept adding a little more LN2 OK. now we're at MINUS 90 Now let's top it off and get to around MINUS 113C (both grinning ear to ear) BlueAqua laughed Maniacally, entered the Bios and upped the voltages (yes, all of them LOL) Booted right up at 5400MHz 610FSB for a 1M Super-Pi run. (hehehehehehehee, hahahahahaha, hehehehehehe) Using SetFSB we started towards the target of 621FSB. Had a reboot or three and a freeze or two but after switching to another set of Ballistix the beast was at 5616 at 624FSB. Just one hale of a fun Saturday morning. We're looking for more Midwest crazies for another get together > Post in this thread or PM BlueAqua or myself if you're up for a "NerdFest II". (Please, no StarTrek uniforms this time Sparky) Wisconsinites must check their cheesehead hats at the door. No exceptions!
