  1. i bought it cuz it was cheaper than as5. kept it in the fridge for storage. gets the same results as as5 on my friends rig. the ocz bottle doesn't give you the precision of as5 bottles. you need to squirt out a bigger blob. http://www.cluboverclocker.com/reviews/the...ltra5/index.htm review
  2. the Tt kandalf?? It is expensive $200+ and heavy (45lb unloaded). But it is BIGGGGGGGGGG.It's the same design as the armor but bigger. Some people said the front LED logo die really fast...... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811133024 black http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811133153 silver this is one of my dream case.
  3. My doormate has this Coolermaster case. He's using all STOCK FANS and it is amazingly quite. I'm so pissed that i spent $60 on the case fans and Xp-120 to get jet engine noise. I think i'll get that case when i have the mone
  4. i don really care about cfm cause my current low cfm fans push enough air to keep everything cool. okay, so i understand there's motor noise and wind noise. I probably suffer from wind noise so what kind of fan/case mod will give me low wind noise? my Ultra case use those horizontal plastic vents in the front and they are loud. a picture for demo:
  5. Not for me. Always ordered big stuff from them with low price, good service, stated shipping time. I can pretty much only buy from monarch cause all cali sellers charge tax. In fact, i ordered the 600W 4 weeks ago for $100 MIR (i'm angry!!!!!).
  6. how can i get better case cooling? I'm using the max number of fans and routed the wires to the best as i can (not much room to hide the cables in the case). Could a different case work better at reducing noise? also, can i get some model number on the fans?
  7. just by putting my ear near each fan(CPu, psu, exhaust) i hear about the same amount of noise. As to getting quieter fans, which one do you guys recommend? current fans intake: vantec stealth 80mm 26db cpu: silverstone fn-121 120mm 26db @ 1100rpm exhaust:vantec stealth 120mm 30db @1300rpm The cheapest fix i can do now is rip away the exhaust mesh(1.5mm steel) and put a grill there. Another one is replacing the chipset fan, but i don think it'll do much cause the other fans noises are greater. I've looked at the danger den stuff, about $50-100 apiece = 300+ for a kit. This is too much for a college student
  8. My current cooling solution keeps the system very cool, but my fans aren't as quite as i'd like them to be(my ears are sensitive). So should I get a fan controller(black and without knobs) or a water cooling unit (DIY or premade)? recommendation needed on what to get. temp: x2 [email protected] 1.37V(27-32C/38-41C) does changing the stock chipset fan help reduce noise too?
  9. thanks for clearing up on the amount of ram blend uses, i'll try that now.
  10. 265mhz was the max i can get out of mine. 11. it's corsair..... one error = instability. If you keep on using that setting eventually you will generate more errors.
  12. You can ran two copies of prime at once, and that's why i added the -a0 and -a1 switch. I'm just wondering why one hoggs so much resource even after setting the switch and affinity. Theoritically they should go at the speed but that wasn't the case.
  13. I was running for dual prime with the -a0 and -a1 switch added but i noticed one instance is using significantly more memory than the other. I've set the affinity for each core before starting blend test. One instance is going through the second cycle while the other one is still on the first test. I ask cause two instances of folding will use the same amount of resource for each core. At 260x10 1.430V and 3-4-4-8 2.7V 1T 1:1, prime won't fail but the icons become black sqaures instead of showing the pictures for running apps. Does this mean the settings will eventually fail?
  14. I just memtested at 2.5-3-3-7 @ 200mhz and it's stable. However, it doesn't give me any bandwidth or speed increase than 3-4-4-8 @ 200mhz
  15. Is it true that windows hates all memory timing besides the one you used when it was installed? I installed Windows using 3-4-4-8 and it runs very smoothly. When I change the timing to 2.5-3-3-8 or 2.5-4-4-8 startup time goes up by a lot. I've tested the tighter timings and they are okay. So does this mean i should've tweaked my memory before installing windows???
  16. tiger upped it to $259.99 now. i won't buy any video card till DX10 is out
  17. where is the list of all the beta bios that exists? i only see one or two in the sticky.
  18. I just OC'ed my rig. The proc stepping is LDBHE 0537XPMW. It hit 2.4ghz (240X10) with stock vcore (1.328 according to CPU-Z) and the ram ran at 3-4-4-8 @240mhz 2.6V. Dual prime runs wonderfully for long long time(7 hours and still going). I thought OC'ing was hard but this only took me like 8 hours to set it up. Everthing is on default except the speed and multi. Temps are fine at 27/35. Does this mean I got good proc and ram or i missed something???
  19. FIXED!!!!!! I tried some new sata cable and reinstalled windows. It seemed that the previous Windows disliked me switching to a higher latency memory. I can feel the difference between 2.5 cas and 3 cause there's a slight lag. moderator: can you change the title to resolved?
  20. i've tried 2 out of the 4 sata cable, will try the others. sandra reports transfer rate as 50mb/s and access time as 10ms. The references are all raptors or 7.2k in raid 0 that's getting 100mb+/s. so i think it's fine, or is it?????? keep in mind i never had this problem with the msi mobo. if i can't fix it, i'll rma the board during winter break.
  21. what socket is your proc or do you not know?
  22. I just got my RMA ram today. Memtest it and no problem. Harddrive also tested okay with WD's diagnostic. Computer is as slow and freeze-prone as before. I will try a fresh reinstall of windows to see if the previous install disliked memory timing. Two more question came to my mind: 1. is the G skill ram incompatible with Dfi? A lot of people here use it but it still might be a possiblity. 2. this board was used to OC a 9 multi proc to 2.7Ghz. can the OC ruin the board, like slow performance? thanks
  23. wait for all peripherals to start usign PCI-e 1x maybbe:eek:
  24. sleep mode is great for slow computers that takes forever to boot up, but my temp went up to 61C after just 4 hours of sleeping. I'm not doin it again till i can get the CPU cooled.........
  25. OCZ GamerXstream 600W. I had an Aspire 500W and replaced it before using it on the DFi mobo. monarch has them for $113 and a $10 MIR. I bought it from there.
