  1. Yeah, I am going to re-install my maze4gpu onto my card and try to get it to work, but my first goal is to install windows. Thank You for all the help, notroosmacfan
  2. DarkOrb, thanks for the speedy reply, but this isn't in windows(i don't even have a HD hooked up yet), this was once it booted. Anyway, I just took off my video card waterblock, put on the stock cooler, and now there's no more artefacting. The problem could have been that the block was put on at an angle, so it wasn't cooling the full core. That doesn't matter now, as there's no more artefacting. -notroosmacfan
  3. DarkOrb, I'm not overclocking at all, and I haven't overclocked in this new setup. Thank You, notroosmacfan
  4. Ok, I just finished a longer(30 min.) proper CMOS clear, but the video is still corrupted. Now I'll try it with the stock cooling on, to see if it will then work.
  5. I'm sorry, but the video card is no longer overclocked(just got back from an RMA), and the CPU no longer has an overclock(just got this board to boot), so I don't know what the problem could be. Because of the strange characters, I don't think that this is a video card problem. For example, all the i's in the bios are replaced with the same japanese-like character. This makes me believe it to be a motherboard problem. I'm currently trying a full CMOS clear to try and work this out, and I'll post back when that's finished.
  6. Hello, I recently was able to get my DFI Ultra-D working outside of the case, but now that I just moved it back in, the video is heavily corrupted, with many @ signs, and what look like japanese symbols. I've never experienced a problem like this, especially because outside of the case there was no corruption at all. Please post back with any advice for what I could do to get rid of the corruption(you can't do anything, because it only refreshes parts of the screen). ps, my video card is in the sig. Update: AFter a quick full CMOS clear, the glitches were gone for about 15 seconds, then when the screen refreshed, they came back. Any help would be appreciated. notroosmacfan -notroosmacfan
  7. Thank You Logan, Today I will be hotflashing it to the latest official bios on Tmod's CD, so it should work. Thank You, notroosmacfan Update: After hotflashing to the latest ultra-d bios from the DFI site, this board is still getting stuck at 2 led's. I've tried swapping out all the components, but still nothing. This is my second bad DFI board(first was the Expert), and now I'm looking for other highly overclockable boards. I've been looking at the CFX3200, but would really prefer to go away from DFI for this board, because of all the problems I've had, and two bad boards in a row. If there's a board that you would recommend(preferably not DFI or ASUS, but Abit or similiar), please post back. Thank You all for your help as DFI support is amazing, I just wish their products could catch up. -notroosmacfan
  8. After swapping parts with Reberto's machine, we found that I had a bad processor, so I went out and bought a brand new opteron 165. Now that I have the chip, the board is still getting stuck at 2 LED's, and now I have no idea of what to do. I think it might be that the bios doesn't support dual core cpu's, so I would like to know at what revision DFI added support for Dual Core processors. Any help would be appreciated, notroosmacfan
  9. Thanks TheFabe, I'm going to test my cpu, and video card in one of my friends system, and also put his cpu and video card in my board to see if it works. After talking to someone else (ffishphone or Iggy if you know him), he believes that it could also be too early of a bios, because of the dual core support, and he said that he's seen some boards with dual cores that have partial functionality(detecting ram and cpu), but still won't post. Basically today I'll swap out components with a friend, and see what's causing all the problems, and I'll then post back. -notroosmacfan
  10. Ok, thank you, but I the jumpers don't affect which slot is working then, because no matter what, the motherboard should recognize my card then, so what's causing the board to get stuck at 2 LED's? @TheFabe: the card they sent me is a brand new 7900GT, and they didn't fix my old one(I doubt they even looked at it, because it had burn marks). My Power supply is rather new, and is a very good PSU, so I don't think that's the problem, and the ram and cpu aren't the problems, because I've tested both in my friend's Ultra-D, with an older bios than mine. Anymore Suggestions?
  11. Thank You TheFabe, I'm currently using a minimal build, and have the ram in the correct spot. The ram I'm currently using is Geil, that was running in one of my friends Ultra-D's(i wanted to make sure I was using good components). I currently have my card in the top PCIE 16x slot, but haven't tried it in the bottom one(my pumps in my way). I would like to know if putting in the bottom slot should make a difference. PS, I did follow that guide. Edit: I get no beeps with the ram in the top orange slot Edit2: How do the jumpers have to do with the slot it's in? -notroosmacfan
  12. Update:I found that the cpu I was using had gone bad, so I bought another. After hotflashing to the latest ultra-d bios from the DFI site, this board is still getting stuck at 2 led's. 13. just wondering, but where did you get that venus? -notroosmacfan
  14. I just wanted to say that I just received a new Danger Den Delrin Tee, and it fills much quicker, and as a result, I've found that it gets rid of the foam much quicker as well. If you want to stick with a T-line, but want a stylish, and better alternative, then this would probably be perfect for you. -notroosmacfan
  15. yay for T1! The speeds are constant at 1.5mbps up, and 1.5mbps down, but that's what I love about it, and because it's dual-duplex, I usually play games with ping times of 5-10ms depending on the server. Also, in bittorrent, I usually get very good speeds of about 200kbps up, and 200kbps down, all at the same time!!! -notroosmacfan

  17. My CCBWE Opteron 165 can clock up to 3.12GHZ stable with 1.6v, although I wouldn't recommend you run it that high. I've been running mine 24/7 at 3.08GHZ without any problems, and with such a good price, you really can't go wrong. Even though I've gotten it up to 3.12, and reached a wall on my old Albatron, I still haven't tested on this Ultra-D, so it may be able to go even higher! Bottom line: Go with the 165, as multi won't make a huge difference if you're using a good board...Just try and get a good stepping! -notroosmacfan
  18. The modder is using one of the sata ports, as I think the cooler has enough height from the board.
  19. Ok, sorry if anyone has seen this before, but I want to show people who don't know yet, and want another cooler other than the stock, or an evercool.
  20. Here's a north bridge cooling mod to all the owners that were limited by the video card pressing against a non-stock north bridge cooler. Very cool, as I'm no longer limited to the evercool, or stock cooler. note:this won't work with SLI http://www.tweak.dk/newtweak/casemod.php?caseid=242
  21. Thanks for yet another great tutorial! I did this mod on my new Ultra-D. Now I just need another 7900GT. edit: do the Asus flex SLI bridges work with this mod?
  22. This trade has been taken care of. I will now leave it to the admin's to close this thread.
