  1. Hey everyone. I'm planning on building a new rig possibly next month. ...that is, Unless you recommend me getting a new laptop instead. If I do Peruse a desktop, I would be going for the Intel Core2Duo line up (even though I'm an AMD fan). My budget is ~$2,000. I would assume you can build a decent desktop with it. ..or If I could make a decent budget gaming ring, and Get a decent laptop too That would be great. I don't play very many games ATM, Just CS:Source (w00t DIY Gaming Clan!), and WoW. I did play oblivion at one point. Never finished. Yes, I do wan't to overclock, so upgraded AIR cooling (I don't want water..I can't imagine me setting it up. You should be fine. I have a teamspeak server available for this clan. I just need to get it authorized by the Dutch. Then I can go ahead with the stuff.
  5. Praise Google Hallelujah! It worked =) Hopefully this helps people out.
  6. cmdlineext02.dll ^ That failed on the CS:S Crash test. It says it could be a keylogger, or used in DAEMON-Tools (I do have daemon tools). But it was also set on 'Low' for threat. All my drivers and stuff passed. I uploaded my crash test results: Steam Crash Test Results -- So I found a temporary fix that let's me play CS:S I put -windowed on the launch options, and it loads fine. Then I goto options, and hit ' Full screen ' and it works. hmm, well at least I have 1/2 the problem semi-fixed.
  7. ---- I just finished reinstalling. and... It still does it =(
  8. Yep... World Of Warcraft runs fine, Warcraft 3 fine, hell, Starcraft too. CS:S is the only one giving me problems. I switched ram sticks into diff slots, still same thing.
  9. Hey guys, I seem to be having a problem with CS:S. I get this error whenever I run source : Any idea's?
  10. Hey everyone, I seem to be having a problem with the latest installer. Cat 7.2's. When I extract and run setup, it says RPC Server unavailable. Both the RPC services are running, what else could the problem be? "Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800706BA" Which is in the event log.
  11. From the things I remember when I used to be a Home Theater rep.. Component cables cannot support the bandwidth needed to stream 1080P resolution (1920x1080 progressive at 60Hz). Also to my knowledge there is no TV yet that supports 1080p through component. There are 2 types of cables/interfaces that support HDMI currently. HDMI, and Firewire. HDMI being the mainstream cable these days. DVI can do it also, but it does not support Audio on the same cable. Hope this helps somewhat.
  12. These settings are alright, but I think there are some differences between your tv and mine. I have a wd-72737, these settings seem to make the picture less colorfull. I'm going to try and find some more articles partaining to tweaking this TV. Thanks for the settings, they're really good when I put color temp to "high"
  13. Actually, I have a Mitsubishi WD-73727 DLP Set. How about you send some of those tweaks my way. I'm not too good at calibrating tv's.
  14. well, here is a crappy pic. But my TV Set I took it with my Motorola RAZR. I'm trying to find my digi cam pic. Mitsubishi 73inch DLP 1080p set. Some crappy Polk Audio + Infiniti Speaker system. I'm getting a new definitive technology speaker system soon.
  15. I have the 73inch DLP. Mitsubishi WD-73727. http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/j/i/18326?cid=132 It handles lower signals flawlessly. I mean I watch anime, and regular stuff on it. Looks beautiful. I think its my X850xtpe that can't put out right on the TV. I'm using DVI out, I'll try the component cables later. I thought DVI > Component. Since component is analog cabling versus digital for DVI.
  16. For the price point, I say go with Xbox 360. Personally, I really want a PS3, Not for the features...not for the slide controllers, not for the Graphics...not for the blu-ray. I want Final Fantasy XIII. I honestly doubt I will get it. But I'll get a 360, and the PS2 port of the game.
  17. When I watch TV, it always says 1080i on the top left. When I play PS2 depending on the game, it's anywhere from 480p to 1080i. I've tried hooking my PC up to the TV with 1920x1080 resolution, but it can't handle it with my DVI cable. I think it only supports 1080p via IEEE (firewire) connections.
  18. Just wondering if anyone else has a mitsubishi TV. Apparently my TV can 'upconvert' to 1080p. I'm just wondering how the hell do you go about doing that. It's not in the manual, only in the product description.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Finals are evil in college. US CS:S server will be down until further notice. I'm working on a new provider now.
  20. Hey everyone ! I'm trying to encode video for my Creative Zen Vision M. I have a bunch of .Mp4 Files on my computer, and I need to convert them to WMV or AVI (whichever has better quality/compression). I cannot use the one that came with my player. It causes too many errors. I am currently using SUPER*. Using these settings: Output : AVI | Codec : XviD and right now I'm converting a 60mb Real Media file into that. Its at 200MB right now. I was wondering, are there any better converters? or is it just my settings? I have some xilisoft video converter software on my comp.
  21. So I bit the bullet. I ended up getting my sister an iPod Video 30gb (I found a used one for $160, adult owned, and minimal scratches). For myself I purchased the creative zen vision M, since I couldn't find the Cowon at a good price.
  22. We'll I'm looking at that jet audio product. Looks nice. But this Creative Zen Vision W looks good too. http://f3multimediasl.net/index.php?page=s...uemart&Itemid=1 For a damn good price at that $210, I just want to know if the site is Legit. Nevermind, It's fake. Credit card transactions are not encrypted. Time to look again =D That COWON A2 looks so good, I'm still trying to find a good deal on it with google checkout (it's $20 of $50 right now)
  23. Same, nice recommendation. Looks nice too. Problem is, that thing is open box So I don't know what it comes with, and it is a tad more then i wanted spend. I will try and find a good deal. Maybe something with Google checkout. Also, how about the arhcos AV700. I found one for $150 http://f3multimediasl.net/index.php?page=s...emid=1&vmcchk=1 I also found the Zen Vision W for $210 http://f3multimediasl.net/index.php?page=s...uemart&Itemid=1 Actually, after 2nd glance at that site...seems unreal hmm..You think it is a scam? I found it off Froogle.com (Google's sub site).
  24. I'm fine with a small screen. A larger screen would equal a lot less in battery time. I will use for music alot, but I'm going on a plain trip to India, so I just thought I'd get a few gadgets before I go. Plus, I can't watch movies in class too. My budget doesn't allow for the Vision W, its over $100 more then the M.
  25. I'm not really going by votes, but it helps me keep track of everyones points. I've been doing some research all day. It seems like the Zen is the most feature packed, and preferred by most people. Due to : Large scale support for many different video formats (must for me). Decent price ($180 street for 30gb). Good battery life. Easily connect to PC (windows explorer works well). Even though it looks ugly as hell, I think I might end up with the Zen as it is the most feature packed for the price, and most places give it at least an 8/10 on it.
