    Nvidias Hottest Weapon Benched!

slight OT question, but will the CUDA apps that are used in the review work on an 8800GTS? cos i like the look of that vid encoder!

    New System... Need Some Input

yeah, a P35 or new P45 chipset would be a much more sensible choice imo as you are not looking to go dual cards with this build, and the e8500 cpu is a bit more expensive for 160mhz, when the e8400 clocks nearly as high on good air cooling. appart from those, solid build, and i like the thermaltake case better

    Which Is Better

I have seen the HP screen in a 22" version and it looks awesome! The reflective coating is quite reflective tho.
  16. And judging by some computex reviews, and dates, nelahem should be out at the end of this year, effectively meaning the start of the end for Core 2 architecture, so maybe a full expensive gaming build is the wrong choice at this stage, maybe a budget build, and then get all the new stuff as it comes out?

    Name That Car!

I'll hint, but not answer cos i cant think of a car to go with next Morgan something....

    Intel Dual-core E2220

emm, they are low end, as they are designed by intel as the low end chips! hence the cheap price! they have reduced cache and a slower stock FSB than the higher end chips such as an e6750 or a newer e8400
  19. From the specs such as the viewing angle and the lower 6 bit colour, i would make the assumption that this is a TN panel, not a higher spec PVA or IPS panel

    Sound Cards / Speakers

the M-Audio's are Balanced 1/4" TRS jack, so gettin those from stereo 3.5mm is a bit annoying maybe "good" was the wrong word, cant think of a better 1 tho

    Sound Cards / Speakers

I wish i could listen to this at the vol. i like, but the parents don't like it lol! When they go out, the neighbours must hate me, cos it is seriously loud! A 5.1 setup of these would be nice, but gettin a good soundcard with TRS out and 5.1 is hard lol!

    Sound Cards / Speakers

they are! i am well impressed the bass is surprisingly good for a small speaker, with no EQ tweaks either! I can hold off from buying a sub for a while!

Help, I Cant Control The Fans

i would guess that speedfan isnt reading properly Aux temps tend not to be that critical IMO, just CPU, GPU and possibly hard drives.

    Sound Cards / Speakers

ok, here we are 1st is the whole setup at my desk, the bottom speakers will go as soon as i can be bothered to unhook them! The Speakers (old under new) The Rear Panel (taken quickly under my desk, being the idiot that i am, i didnt take pics on install) The Cards in the PC (the 2 below the GTS Perfect length to avoid the fan lol! ignore the black spot at the bottom, it is just the lens hood, i couldnt b assed movin it, i already had to change lenses )

    Sound Cards / Speakers

Got the Stuff! WOOP!! It is awesome! The speakers are louder, clearer, more bassy that hi-fi speakers twice the size! i couldnt believe the difference! i now need to get the old speakers in the new soundcard, to see how much difference that makes
