  1. I did not know where to post this so I am assuming temperature related issues goes under cooling. But anyways ok there is this problem with my temperature or something. I was checking my info on my budget rig and it says I have a Power/AUX temperature of 106 degrees celcius. I know I have posted this topic before but it got lost with the crash. I am really sorry if you get mad that I posted it again but I can't help it. This issue is starting to really bug me with temperature thing. What do you guys think it is? Here is a picture below of all the things you need to know if you can help:

  2. I belive the card will work with DX10 but it won't have some specail features that DX10 cards will have when they come out.

So does that mean any card that says Windows Vista ready on the box will have future DX10 support? :O

And yeah it is a nice card.

  3. Cause the bords are just to close to one another.

I had a plan to try to get them farther apart, but since danger den has a project that looks much better, I figured i would just wait.... If i overclock this bord it would only shine more in bench marks, as I'm getting good FPS on everything I'm pitting against it, and that is NOT much.... in the end of the year I'll have a lot more time to mess around, and then i'll see how much I can play with it.. for now, i have to get to know better how to store, recover, and index by similarity in large complex databases...... so my baby is showing me more numbers and charts, then I would care..... :(

Will your card have future DX10 support?

  4. NICE!!!!!

Got to love how it looks in the case hun?

I think Danger Den is coming up with a way to W/C it.

I think I'll wait for the water block to OC this baby...it's already too hot at stock for me!

    Great job though!

Why don't you get some better air cooling for now instead?

  5. i've got beta 2 on my 80gb right now but im going to wipe that and throw this onto it tomorrow.

Just be warned that installation takes like 2 freaking hours. Especially longer if you choose to have updated installation files installed.

  6. You know what I got to admit that Windows Vista Pre-RC1 is pretty fast for a test version. I got it running on a Celeron D 3.4ghz with 512MB of RAM and a radeon 9550 and so far no system hangs or bad peformance. Although it is having trouble working with my Catalyst Control Center.

  7. well considering K8L isn't out yet...i'd say that K8L is AMD's answer to Core 2 Duo :withstupid:

    and its the X6800 FYI

 Actually if you paid attention to things you would know there is an X6900 it just hasn't come out yet. It will be coming out at the end of 2006 maybe!

    Conroe XE

By the end of 2006 Intel plans to introduce the Core 2 Extreme X6900, which is slated to clock at 3.2 GHz, while keeping the same FSB speed, L2 cache size, socket, and TDP.

According to leaked info, Intel is to release another Conroe XE in the 4th quarter of 2006, model X8000 with 3.33GHz and 1333MHz FSB QDR.

An E4300 Allendale (1.8GHz, 800MT/s FSB) will be released in the 1st quarter of 2007.

  8. Well right know Intel is on top for gaming. But that is suppose to change when amd realses its K8L in dec/jan or some time next year.

Vista will probaly be my last upgrade for a while when it comes out for consumers :)

  9. well one thing i would have tried (although its a shot in the dark) would be to unplug the power switch and arc the power jumpers with a screwdriver....your power button could have went out explaining why it wouldnt turn back on. hard to say in a situation like that.

:withstupid: Yeah it could have short or the switch may just be plainly done for. Try using another switch or something like that. But oh well I guess its too late because you already took it to a Computer Repair shop

  10. By no means because there are still a lot of compatability issues with 3rd party programs but the basics seem to work pretty good and they have really brought down the overall CPU and RAM utilization. While it's not as solid as XP I can tell you that I do remember when XP was RC1 and it was a lot buggier than Pre RC1 Vista seems to be at this point. (at least for me) Also just an FYI I did an in place upgrade from XP SP2.

Do you think my budget celeron D rig would be able to run vista smoothly because I don't have my main rig's hard drive partitionand and if I do partition it I will lose valuable data. So I was thinking about putting it on my budget rig. It has a celeron D 3.4ghz, 512MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9550.

  11. It's pretty solid I have been running it all day at work since Monday and I haven't had any problems other than some Outlook 2007 issues but that was a different issue all together.

When you mean solid, do you mean solid like Windows XP?

  12. I know TT ain't no good. Not to mention it only comes with a CPU water block and nothing more besides the pump, radiator, and blah blah blah. Heck you probaly get the same temps as stock cooling. Just add some more money to it and you could get an even better setup with good peformance.

  13. Nice. I will take most of this to heart, though I insist on keeping my 7800GTX, considering the amazing overclock on it, it would easily compare to a 7900, either way, the most hardcore gaming ill be doing with this rig might be Doom3 or Fear, which ran more than perfect on my last rig. The hard drive and power supply look amazing and I thabk you for the research. I must ask though, what happened while I was gone, AMD was the way to go for gaming, has intel caught up? I think Ill just use the opportunity of dropped prices to maybe get an FX-55 or another 4000+ and overclock em? Just gimme a yes or a no, AMD or intel, you guys are the judges since Ive been missing out.

Well I would say YES go with Intel. Well yeah before Core 2 Duo came out AMD was the way to go for gaming. But remember thats just an opinion. But the reason Intel is the way to go now is because the new Core 2 line has better overclocking capabilities, a high bus speed, 65nm proccessor, lower voltage, and unlocked cores(X6800 ONLY).

  14. another swing and a miss for peanut butter boy!

that is NOT true. though it would might be a good idea on older systems running dual channel, it's not 100% necessary. also... buying by "brand" name on the box isn't 100% that you'll get the same "brand" ram. most companies simply box ram, they don't make it, thus they buy what ever they can get cheapest this week.

Hey not to be mean or anything but if I am wrong just tell me and thats it. There is no reason for name calling.
