  1. i have an AMD 3700 sandy core, they have strong memory controllers. i just can't figure out why these ram's im using won't work. mobo maybe?
  2. first, thanks for your help but, yea i know the error's im getting are usually ram related but i thought they might also be memory controller related because i had a gig of mushkin redline that caused the same problems and i thought the same as you, there were even errors on it in memtest, so i sent it back. but i just got this gig of gskill and it's doing the exact same thing. where as when i just put my one stick of 512 400 kingston it works ok. i'm gonna try putting the gig in slot 1 & 2 (so it doesnt run dual channel) and then just try putting one stick of gskill in in slot 2 (where the kingston usually is) and i dont really know what IRQ's are, but i do know on post its says Memory Controller N/A (i can take a picture if needed) and i didn't think that was the best sign.
  3. I've noticed recently that on POST, my Memory Controller's IRQ is listed as NA, instead of a number. I was wondering if anyone knew any information on what that may mean or what could have caused it. I've also been having some problems with my ram that may be a result of this. It refuses to run dual channel, and i can't run more then one stick of ram. When i do i get alot of PFN_LIST_CORRUPT stop erros and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. it's a pain because i have (512x2) DDR 550 GSkill ram.

    New Mushkin Redline!

i agree, it has an 80mm fan but i agree more with: but it's mushkin and dfi, supposedly go very well together. it's crashing at the same spot, and im getting an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or whatever that stop error is. but either way everythings pointing to bad ram

    New Mushkin Redline!

the problem is that after i tried to boot with the ram i ran memtest and it came up with tons of erros after only 22 passes of test 1-8. i tried it a day or two later and i can't get it to produce a single error. also, everything was pretty much stock. cpu vid was 1.4, i had an 80mm fan over the ram
  6. i have an AMD 64 3700+ San Diego, and i know they have strong memory controllers. but i think there may be something wrong with mine, is there a program [like memtest?] that will test out my cpu, or maybe just it's memory controller? so i have something to tell the company i'm sending it back to?

    New Mushkin Redline!

how would the memory controller mess up, and is there a way i can test it? ok well i got it booting. i reinstalled the operating system, using the old kingston ram. the mushkin redline [which has not given me a single error on memtest, each stick, or together, after hours of testing, but STILL will not boot] i'm going to send back. i dont know whats wrong with that. i'm just hoping there is nothign wrong with my cpu. i'm still looking for a way where i can test it's memory controller, if anyone has ideas or suggestions

yea see, i just left it on again and it started errors after a few hours. but i ran the single stick an hour or so and it didn't. should i return to newegg, or mushkin? and i still dont know why it wont boot with good ram

thanks, i just set it to do that. when thats finished hopefully i have an idea of which ram isnt working and which is. and i just formated an old hard drive and am going to start with a clean install, see how that works out.

    New Mushkin Redline!

i was actually just going to ask about that, seperate or together. but i've also got some wierd things to report. first off, i did the bios reset and jumpers before and that didnt work. but anyways, i tested the first stick of mushkin, and it went through about 10 passes, like i said earlier, with no errors. i tested the second stick for only a pass, and it had no errors earlier. now i just tested both of them together for a pass without any errors. memtest86 says usually all erros can be found with one pass [i'm not using test9, if that makes a difference]. but the wierd part is that yesterday i had tested them both together when the problem first came up while i was at work. and when i came back it had gone through like 22 passes and had 800,000 errors or some huge error count. is one pass really enough or should i let it go for longer?

yea im working on hard drive and OS right now. and i memtested one of the sticks of mushkin and it went through 10 passes without an error before i stopped it. i'm testing the second stick as we speak.

sometimes i don't get an error message, and it just restarts. sometimes i do and its a bsod stop erro that flashes so fast i can barely see it. it says something about the system initialization manager, and then some hex value, and the system is shutting down. edit UPDATE: ok, i managed to get a picture of it before it flashed away. it says: "STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization system process... status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x00000000) The system has been shut down." and no, i get the same problem when i try and boot into safe mode. also, i memtested the ram im currently using [the stuff i had before the redline] for 6 hours and not a single error. so i dont think its the ram

yea i memtested them together while i was at work, and got alot of errors. i'm going to test each stick tomorrow. im just hoping nothing i did caused the ram to go bad. but i do remember it wouldnt boot on stock voltage, when i first put it in. [and yea, i got it from newegg] but now i put the ram i was using, that i know is good, back in. and i'm still getting a stop error on boot up. im memtesting that ram right now to double check that isnt bad either. but now im getting the error with the different ram? i mean come on.

yea, i had an 80mm fan over it. and also i put it in on stock voltage and it wouldn't boot, so i was under the impression that it needed more to operate properly. i didnt just pop it in and set it to 3.3

yea, i had an 80mm fan over it, and also i started it in 2.6 and it wouldnt boot. the rig is: Thermaltake PurePower 680w AMD 64 3700+ San Diego DFI LanParty UT Ultra-D ATI X700 and then the redline ram im gonna update the bios and then run memtest
