  1. I have a hitachi deskstar 250 gig SATA 150 / SATA II hard drive, 7200 RPM here that Im not using. It was 135.00 new, when I got it 2 months ago. Ill take 100.00 for it shipped.

  2. Hi Im new to the forums and decided that since my p4 rig overclocked so well (266 x 15) that i would try my asus a7n8x-e deluxe with an athlon xp mobile 2800.the cpu pushes at 2500 mhz but i cant get any more than about 225 - 227 fsb.Anyone know if this is the general chipset limit or the cpu fsb limit.

Those motherboards are bad to go beyond 230 fsb. They arent made for extreme overclocking, like the dfi infinity is.

  3. I have 2 copies of Everquest II that I am looking to sell. Both are in their original boxes with all included content. My Girlfriend and I both purchased the game but have recently come into money problems and cant afford to be paying monthly service fees. EQ2 is a great MMORPG and we both highly recommend it to the avid gamer.

    $15 shipped per game

does it include any characters or anything? I never played the game, so I apologize if Im misunderstood about the game. Im not sure if its like other games, where you have to include the account info or if its just install the cd key and your good. If you have more info on this, I will take both. Thanks.

  4. well flash, atm i get 9k for 3dmark05 on my gtx. honestly main reason i want another card is just for benchmarks and playing with sli aa 8x, 16x and 32x (should it come out). now really if i really had to justify getting another card, i wouldnt. but if you must go with sli, then i suggest you push that proc higher because its gonna choke a bit on sli.

I have 2 gtx's in my opty rig and I love them. I dont benchmark with them, but I love how no game struggles. I just want something for her that will be a good upgrade, and not one that can get outdated in a month...

  5. well i would go with one gtx it should be cheaper then the sli of 7800gts

it would also be more game efficient, all games would run well.

also if she dosent play games that much i would just consider getting her a lower end card, 6600gt-6800gs still has PLENTY of power for todays games.

It would be about 100.00 cheaper to go with 1 gtx, but I think the 2 gt's will outperform 1 gtx. Especially since I wont be upgrading her computer for a while. I weighed the option of getting a gtx and one later, but thats 400 bux more in the long run then it would be to just get 2 gt's right now..

  6. I have a limited budget. I can either get a 7800 GTX or 2X 7800 GT video cards. Which would be better for games? This computer won t be upgraded for a while, so the "get the 7800 gtx, you can always get another one later" wont come into play here. I myself having 2 7800 gtx cards in my rig, I cant be happier, but this isnt for me, its for my fiance who plays games, but not as much as me:).

    The rig is as follows:

    DFI NF4 SLI-DR

    AMD 3800+ 64 @ 2.7 ghz (XP-90C with medium speed fan)

    2 gigs OCZ PC4000 Ram

    OCZ Powerstream 520 watt psu

I'm thinking about getting the 7800's and overclocking them a little. Only because she wont be upgrading for a while, and that extra card in there with the 7800 will only better it.

  7. Hey all,

Since I got my new opty, I got a new case and case fans to go with it. I got a case with a fan in the side window, and was wondering which way I should have the fan face?? I currently have the zalman 9500 cu on the opty, and that has an fan that faces the 2 exhaust fans on the rear of my case. I also have 2 pusher fans in the front of the case. I was wondering if I should have the side window fan pushing air on the zalman, or should it just exhaust like all the others I have seen??? please help! thanks! :)

  8. if you're thinking to get that ram to get faster ram speed than the gskill 4800 then you'll probably be disappointed... do you have the pc4800FF or the pc4800FR... the FF is some of the best tccd out there...

you might want to look into the memory settings if you having stability problems with the memory above 300mhz... like max async latency -> 9.0ns, and possibly changing the preamble and other timings...

its not the FF, its this one. Its the value stuff. I think ill give the pdp a try.

  9. I don't know how much things have changed since I was a serious poster here, but I've never liked using dividers.  Personally, I'd rather use 1GB of RAM with no divider.  The latency hits kinda nullify any gains on the CPU speed.

What are you doing that requires that much memory?

well, I dont really know to be honest, mostly gaming. Ive heard from everyone that BF2 and FEAR love 2 gigs. Thats about it mostly.

  10. Hey all,

I have a new day, and a new question for you. I am feeling so noob asking you, but I dont want to waste cash for nothing.

I am in the process of overclocking my new opty 146, and I sold my g.skill last night, and I am currently having a debate. I was wanting 2 gigs of ram for a while now, but I want to maintain the 3.0ghz overclock on the opty.

I was reading alot about dividers and such, but I was wondering, If I buy a 2 gig set of OCZ Platinum PC4000 off the egg, do you think I should be able to put a divider on it so that I can get back to my 3.0ghz overclock? Or am I stuck with 1 gig sets??

    Help a lost person!
