  1. Hello everyone,, I'm a long time pc hobby builder but new to overclocking. I built mine over 8 years ago and its still going strong. But for that many years I've over looked the fact that my 4gb ddr2 1066 ram (f2-8500cl6-2gbnq) has been running at 400mhz. I don't know much about timing and such, but I do know that when the sticker on the ram stick says pc2 8500 6-6-6-18 2.0v-2.1v and speccy shows pc2 6400 5-5-5-15 something is not right. I was able to play with the OC settings and get it to show 6-6-6-18 but it still shows pc2 6400 400mhz. I was also able to change memory voltage to 2.1 but didn't seem to make a difference. What am I missing? What else do I need to change? -Biostar tf8200 a2+ -amd phenom x4 9850 BE 2.5ghz -4gb(2x2gb) g.skill ddr2 -evga nvidia gtx1050ti 4gb
  2. Hello everyone,, I have the palit GTX 570 STANDARD and i overclocked it to the specifications of the GTX 570 Classified then i ran furmark.. i got up to 5:30 (estimate) minutes and got to a temp of 93 degrees (2 away from max) but it was still rising, i had to shut it off and it was only using 98% gpu load so what would 100% do O_O should i downclock to my defaults???
  3. I have bought the ASUS 7970 directcu II. However, from what I can tell the voltage is locked I have read the OOC review here http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/asus_hd7970_direct_cu_ii/4.htm, and whomever did the review could select up to 1.3V. However, my maximum is 1180mV, with the default at 1175mV. And that won't even matter, because the card will run at 1.17V as per HWiNFO64. How come I can't get the voltage going like in the review? Another annoyance. It seems if I want to use 2 monitors, the state 3 clocks, 300/150 are no longer applied, instead I'm getting idle clocks of 500/1325 (or whatever the memory clock is). If I disconect one monitor, I will get 300/150 clocks if I idle or watch a low quality movie.
  4. Hello everyone,, I have a i7-6700k that I am going to try overclocking at some point. I have read plenty of stuff saying I should go with at least an AiO water cooler if I plan to over clock, but I'd rather not water cool if its not necessary. What would be the best air cooling option if I plan to overclock my cpu? What would be the best water cooling option as well and why should I go with water cooling over air cooling? Right now I have the cooler master hyper 212 evo Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
