  2. Well my mod shop is wherever I can find about 4sq feet of open space in my house. Usually ends up being the my bedroom floor which isnt the best place since it is carpeted specially when dealing with electonics. Oh well I am not skilled enough yet to be in nned of massiveness, but those are some nice looking toys all of you, good luck and keep up the good work. (ps kobalt your right about funds dissappearing in your house, not only that they have seemed to have stolen the door of your cabniet in the last photo aswell! lol)
  3. Well Misuta Yancha make me an offer that seems fair to you and I will let you know how it strikes me...
  4. I have 3 Lexar 256MB Jumpdrive Secure USB 2.0 Flash Drives and I love each and everyone of them. (Also they received the highest rating in some computing magaizine a couple months back I will have to look for the issue.)
  5. Naw sorry the optical drives are all grey, white or beige from what I recall, but no black. As for the powersupplies they are both 235watts. I don't know the rails off the top of my head but I will check on them tomorrow and take a picture of all details.
  6. RMA the ram and say it was the wrong type chris and then in the meantime buy this. For the three months I had ballastix ram I loved it....
  7. I do not have any dvd drives unfortuantly, as for the crt's they are in good and working condition. There is no cosmetic/physical damage or anything of that sort.
  8. I am looking to buy a stick or two of 256mb DDR 266, I know I can always get them off like newegg.com but I honestly have no reason behind needed new parts as long as they work as this will be going in an old dell.
  9. The floppy drives are that off white color but you can always paint it lol... And the video cards one is a Diamond PCI 4mb and the other is a 16mb
  10. 11. Hey all, well I my Dell 8200 Pentium 4 comptuer has been in need of reformating for quite some time ever since I was hit with multiple viruses and spyware. I was able to remove/quarintine the problems, but in the process it affected some of the key system files. It wasn't damaged enough to the point where it wasn't operational, just inefficent and full of errors/bugs. For instance not everyhint in IE worked, the add-remove list was outta wack and had multiple listings of items and the overall preformace of the machine was slow. But recently the problem has only gotten worse and I figured now would be the best time to reformat. Unforatunatly when I went to do that today, I was unable to get it to boot from the CD. I restarted the computer, changed the boot squence and pressed f8/f12 but got an error message saying to retry by pressing f1 or f2 or enter setup menu...I tried multiple legit copies of XP, tried my cd-rom as well as my cd-rw and still was at a dead end. If anyone has any suggestions on the matter please let me know! Thanks again in advanced.
  12. Do you only have 64mb sticks of the PC100 memory? Also how much would you be willing to let the 9800 128mb AGP go for shipped that is? Pictures would be nice if possibe and is that oem version of the video card or do you also have the box/drivers/cables?
  13. My door broke when I was closes the lid one day. the hinges weren't all the way out of the hole and they snapped.
  14. I to broke the pins so I ripped that sucker out of the top of my case and beat it to a pulp with a hammer! My suggestion is you do what I do, and try to rma your case or just buy a new door.
  15. LOL Just my luck I was awaiting the Xclio and the day I decide to give up and buy a different one, it comes back into stock...oh well. Thanksagain and i am sure I will not be disappointed!
  16. If I never see another Ultra-X in my life I will die a happy man!
  17. Thanks again, likev715 I have decided up on purchasing the Tagan 480watt PSU v2 for $91. I was leaning towards the Forton Source with the presleeved cables, but figured what the hell I can sleeve them myselves and gain the experience and pride knowing I did that. As for your parts recomendation, unfortunatly have already purchased a large majority of them back in December. I will take a look however back at the DFI boards. Also what tools/how would I remove the sata connector and the SLI conector on my power supply so I could sleeve that particular cable?
  18. What company manufactured the video card? Also any pictures?
  19. Is their an ingraving on the back of the IPod? And if you are willing to split up the pair how much you asking for the video card?
  20. Well honestly, I too have been an Intel man all my life. They are all I have ever really known and had knowlegeable experience with. (Been working with coputers since I was a lad in the days of DOS and god only knows what was in that computer lol) So I can totaly relate to where your coming from when with your concerns. Regarding the processors you have selected I would be skeptical personaly of the dual core processor by intel as I have heard some good as well as some bad things that scared me off from the start. If you really want a dual core processor I would wait till the technology improves on them since they are realitivly new. As for the Pentium 4 640 model, I was just recently was debating the purchase of one of those, or the Pentium 4 550J model for $309.99 The 640 is good becasue it has 2mb cache which is something that is set in stone and can't be increased through overclocking I think. However it the GHZ is lower than the 550J at stock speeds. You may ask why the 550J for $309 versus other 3.4ghz, well the 550J (ET look at the stepings) is an improved version that fixes common problems with the processor one being the heat issue that they let off. So If you are going for an Intel system I would debate between those two best of luck, I was personally leaning towards the 550J since I am not one for overclocking...never tried it since my system was too hot. In the end, I decided to go out on a limb and try amd. I will let you know what I think after I purchase the parts (still searching for some things) Lastly the 3500+ AMD processor a favorite and well recommended processor among these forums and fellow gamers. Smart choice going with the vience core as it was recently released and not a moment too soon, OCer's were on the edges of their seats waiting to get their hands on these puppies since they fixed some problems that they often had to deal with when using other cores (mem controller). So really the question is do you want an AMD system or Intel? AMD seems to leading the way currently with "better products" in some peoples opinon as their processors are better for overclocking, and run 64bit although Intel has their own version of one it is said to not be as good. Intel seems to work best with everyday work, and rains supreme in serious video and graphics editing (next to mac that is). AMD however will blow any intel system out of the water when it caomes to games and from what I have heard doesn't do too bad of a job when it comes to editing as well. Lastly, what will your new system mainly be used for? Do you plan on overclocking this system? I apoligize for writting a novel, I just felt like voiceing my opinon since I am going through/leaning towards the darkside the same thing. That and I was bored lol Best of luck to you kid!
  21. I know this sorta falls on as an opinon since it is hard to compare the two other than in certain areas with benchemarks. But will a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ suprass a Pentium 4 3.4ghz in preformace and speed?
  22. Just out of curiousity would this ram here out preform the crucial ballistix? 2x512mb sticks of DDR400 to be percise.
  23. Alright man thank you, well you may or may not know I have only built one computer and well the five main components of that fired back in march, (psu, mobo, memory, cpu). Well, I am still in the deciding stage of which components to use in my system to replace the one I fired. However I am about 95% sure that this is what it will be. So base your conclusions of the powersupply off the following list please. ---Computer Specs--- Case: Thermaltake VA3000 Dream Tower Black Tsunami Fans: 7 ------Intake: 120mm Blue LED ------Exhaust: 120mm Blue LED ------Side Door: 92mm ------Heatsink: 92mm Tornado ------PCI Slot: Vantec Spectrum Fan Card ------5.25 Bay: XPER TWIN TURBO DUAL 90MM Processor: AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diego Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra Memory: CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 ??? Powersupply: (Still Looking lol) Videocard: Radeon X700 Pro 256mb PCI Express Soundcard: Sound Blaster
  24. Well, I am still in the deciding stage of which components to use in my system to replace the one I fired, but I am about 95% sure that this is what it will be. So base your conclusions of the memory off the following list please. Processor: AMD Athlon 3700+ San Diego Motherboard: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra Memory: CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 ??? Powersupply: (lilkev715 and I are still looking lol) If you need any other information please don't hesitate to ask and if anyone else has a comment or suggestion on this memory or others to consider I am open to all opinons as always!
