  1. Abbott & Costello COSTELLO CALLS TO BUY A COMPUTER FROM ABBOTT... ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks. I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinkingabout buying a computer. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou. ABBOTT: Your computer? COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want to buy one. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: I told you, my name's Lou. ABBOTT: What about Windows? COSTELLO: Why? Will it get stuffy in here? ABBOTT: Do you want a computer with Windows? COSTELLO: I don't know. What will I see when I look at the windows? ABBOTT: Wallpaper. COSTELLO: Never mind the windows. I need a computer and software. ABBOTT: Software for Windows? COSTELLO: No. On the computer! I need something I can use to writeproposals, track expenses and run my business. What do you have? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yeah, for my office. Can you recommend anything? ABBOTT: I just did. COSTELLO: You just did what? ABBOTT: Recommend something. COSTELLO: You recommended something? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: For my office? ABBOTT: Yes. COSTELLO: OK, what did you recommend for my office? ABBOTT: Office. COSTELLO: Yes, for my office! ABBOTT: I recommend Office with Windows. COSTELLO: I already have an office with windows! OK, let's just say I'm sitting at my computer andI want to type a proposal. What do I need? ABBOTT: Word. COSTELLO: What word? ABBOTT: Word in Office. COSTELLO: The only word in office is office. ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows. COSTELLO: Which word in office for windows? ABBOTT: The Word you get when you click the blue "W". COSTELLO: I'm going to click your blue "w" if you don't start with some straight answers. OK, forgetthat. Can I watch movies on the Internet? ABBOTT: Yes, you want Real One. COSTELLO: Maybe a real one, maybe a cartoon. What I watch is none ofyour business. Just tell me what I need! ABBOTT: Real One. COSTELLO: If it's a long movie, I also want to watch reels 2, 3 and 4. Can I watch them? ABBOTT: Of course. COSTELLO: Great! With what? ABBOTT: Real One. COSTELLO: OK, I'm at my computer and I want to watch a movie. Whatdo I do? ABBOTT: You click the blue "1". COSTELLO: I click the blue one what? ABBOTT: The blue "1". COSTELLO: Is that different from the blue w? ABBOTT: The blue "1" is Real One and the blue "W" is Word. COSTELLO: What word? ABBOTT: The Word in Office for Windows. COSTELLO: But there are three words in "office for windows"! ABBOTT: No, just one. But it's the most popular Word in the world. COSTELLO: It is? ABBOTT: Yes, but to be fair, there aren't many other Words left. Itpretty much wiped out all the other Words out there. COSTELLO: And that word is real one? ABBOTT: Real One has nothing to do with Word. Real One isn't evenpart of Office. COSTELLO: STOP! Don't start that again. What about financialbookkeeping? You have anything I can track my money with? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: That's right. What do you have? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: I need money to track my money? ABBOTT: It comes bundled with your computer. COSTELLO: What's bundled with my computer? ABBOTT: Money. COSTELLO: Money comes with my computer? ABBOTT: Yes. No extra charge. COSTELLO: I get a bundle of money with my computer? How much? ABBOTT: One copy. COSTELLO: Isn't it illegal to copy money? ABBOTT: Microsoft gave us a license to copy Money. COSTELLO: They can give you a license to copy money? ABBOTT: Why not? THEY OWN IT! (A few days later...) ABBOTT: Super Duper computer store. Can I help you? COSTELLO: How do I turn my computer off? ABBOTT: Click on "START".

  4. i think your looking for this type of amp http://search.ebay.com/dj_Power-Amplifiers...Z1QQsacatZ64450 if your only gonna use this for in your home, get a pair of 15" 3 way dj speakers (PAs) like these... http://search.ebay.com/dj_PA-Speakers_W0QQ...Z1QQsacatZ47094

  6. maybe the newest abit boards suck, however i have been running an abit IC7-g Max II in my 2nd gaming pc for a year now and still to this day have not had any problems with it.... and i bought it USED!!!!!!!
  7. oops, heres the updated list which now includes the lga 775 also http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCompa...SubCategory=280 (i didnt realize that some of the boards didnt have an agp slot) so which one... well nevermind afterall thanks for all your help guys i just bought an abit is-10 for $35!

  11. running 1600x1200 res 2 line quickstart on top so the desktop is uncluttered
  12. Congratulations, you're team has already answered correctly. You're closer to the truth. links to:
  13. actually thats the same adapter that i already found, thats the right interface i am not trying to just stick a cheap cd rom into a case im modding a macintosh se/30 with a slot load dvdrw slim drive made by panasonic that will fit perfectly because there is absolutely no room to work with in this project it will be mounted where the floppy drive was with some minor trimming the drive itself runs around $140 but it is a slot load which is pretty cool no tray no excess bulk and its a dvd burner unlike the pioneer slot load dvd rom which can only read not write
  14. ok, after digging deeper, i did find a few other products that will convert the mini cd roms and you were right, its a different interface completely
  15. did they send the faulty work unit? or did your cpu cause it?
  16. i was looking into buying one of these 2.5" to 3.5" adapters so that i can use a laptop's cd rom on a pc i found many adapters but all of them say its for use with hard drives only, will it work with the slim cd roms also?
  17. my tv is an older but perfect working RCA (single yellow component input only) i also tried it on a brand new (2004) Samsung 32" flat tube (hooked up s-video directly, also tried the yellow component) both were pretty fuzzy looking to the point where my eyes hurt trying to browse about windows the output was on TV in the ati catalyst panel i tried different resolution and refresh settings with no avail so, its either get a fancy vga to tv converter box, or try to find a used 30" crt
  18. before reformatting, check and see if theres any updates available for your games i had a crashing problem running ut'04, updated, no more crashes! does it only crash when gaming? are you running at a high resolution when it crashes lower the resolution to 800x600 and play the game at that see if it affects when it crashes could be a heat buildup problem try installing a modified video driver http://www.3dchipset.com
  19. so i dont have to go and get one of those fancy Hauppauge units then? whats with the blurryness im getting on the tv?
  20. i want to play dvds on my 25"tv and my ati 9700 pro gives me a crappy picture (really fuzzy, blurry, cant see anything w/o hurting my eyes) is there any recommendations on the most clear video card for tv use? my tv only has a component rca input for video so no s-video, vga, mpeg, compatability just a good clean picture is what im after let me know your experiences with running a tv from your card
