gpstatechamps07 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I built my PC today and turned it on and everything is running fine except the proccesor fan is not moving it only moves a little when I turn it off the fan jumps on for less than a second. I also get no picture on my monitor. What could be wrong?
Verran Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 So the processor fan isn't going and there's no video. That's an interesting definition of "everything is running fine" Do you get any error beeps when you first start it up?

j2t Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 What are your system specs? Is everything new? What size/brand of power supply, almost sounds like a power issue to me.
Comp Dude2 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) hmm....suppose we have to recommend the usually cable checking treatment. Nd try the cpu fan in a system fan header or something. It should boot fine without the fan spinning so concentrate on the video problem. Is this 1 beep a POST beep then (i assume you are familar with them given this is your second build) Btw, specs from his profile are: Gigabyte P35 Motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo e4500 @ 2.8GHz HD 3850 512mb 250gb HDD 2gb of 800 RAM No comment on the PSU though lol, fill us in mate Edited January 2, 2008 by Comp Dude2

kingdingeling Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 That would most likely be your problem! Rosewill PSU = craptacular!
j2t Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Yep, I would try a different PSU...Rosewill's are notoriously bad
gpstatechamps07 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 I was thinking maybe the motherboard has a thermal sensor and only runs the fan when it hits a certain temperature. Also dont forget the problem with no video cant figure that one out.

gpstatechamps07 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 yea, what do you think makes a video card work? well the fan spins but does this mean it still would need more power to display a picture?
