Why are you so mean? I was just asking polightly, and seeing as this is a sig thread i though you would understand the concepts of colors, guess not. Hell he can say no i dont care, its my right to be able to ask. Its an OPEN forum.

I don't think there is anything you can say that is a stupid as that. Please don't give your opinions again.

um no. i kno there are those things about ya too much voltages can hurt ur cpu no matter what temps, but based on his voltages and his temps i said dont worry about it. i guess i should have said who cares about the volts as long as they are in the max range for your chip.

o and please dont comment unless your giving your opinion or contradicting someone elses, you didnt contribute anything.

It's based on a Jackson Dinky..... 'cuz that's what AG likes.

AG are you still wanting the sigs and avatars to have the socket number in them? Or are you looking for more of a "stock" image thing with specs added later?

O cool, didnt kno about that design.

Oops sorry i just rememberd 1.7 but that was for 120nm cores, the 90nm cores get "1.6v-1.65v MAX"

very nice clockwork, but i must say that 1.66 volts is way too high for 24/7 use, even if the temps are low. i would not go higher than 1.55, but that's just me. i would predict that chip will die within 6 months if you leave it at 1.66.

I doubt that, id say it would last a couple years if you have a decent power supply.

If your cpu doesnt get hot then who cares about the volts. I just recently looked at my server config cause I never checked what the bios was doing and it set the cpu (amd xp) at 1.65 volts and ive had that sucker for 3 years. Ive never had a cpu or anything besides a power supply ever die on me. I wouldnt worry so much about voltage if you read the guide they suggested up to 1.7

Ok hows this sound, nobody steal it cause its my idea.

Thinking of making a realistic file cabinet, a couple side by side to represent the "database" and then mod them out and add like comp parts and stuff to them etc... so its like "overclocked" sound good?

U kno that guitar is made as a lefty guitar. Id flip the end where the tuning screws are at the top of the guitar. Either that or make the bottom fin larger than the top instead of top larger than bottom.

And the frets on that thing, what exactly is that? id make silver bars and have them stretch accross the full width of the fret board.

On a side note if your looking for realism, make 24 frets.

Besides all that it looks good so far, maybe try some other color combos like black or blue etc...

#1121137 does this sound like a bad cpu??

My only other thoughts would be to try some different ram.

#1121123 does this sound like a bad cpu??

not being mean or rude. but i said in my first post i did all those... it doesnt boot. no video whatsoever. all 4 leds stay on.. not being rude. but if only people with advice could reply... im kinda stuck not knowing wether to return the board or the cpu

all fans spin.. the ram light comes on.. the cpu fan and chipset fans all run. and all my accessory fans.. and i hear the hdd spinning.. but the comp wont boot at all. cause the cpu light stays on.. so im taking it its prolly the cpu??

Do you have the resources to try the cpu in another computer? thats what i would do, test that sucker on another motherboard.

could you post your bios settings, ie fsb, voltage, multi, dram settings etc...

Then we can see what your doing and would be easier, plus im curious as to what you got your 3200+ to.

#1120837 Will Floppy Drive Work Upside Down ?

Posted by J054 on 01 January 2006 - 05:31 PM in OCC Member's Lounge

Well, some motherboards only give you floppys others give you cds... but you can still download them and put them on a cd.

#1120828 Will Floppy Drive Work Upside Down ?

Posted by J054 on 01 January 2006 - 05:24 PM in OCC Member's Lounge

I know this is kind of off topic but why even use a floppy drive, especially if your low on space. I have 3 computers without floppy drives, I dont think ill ever buy one again. You can get boot up cds and theres really no use for floppys in todays environment. Burn a cd, use a usb drive etc... IMHO floppys are a waste of money.

I dont even have them in my server, use boot up cds if necessary.

#1120162 Help me push my 3000+ Venice !

Posted by J054 on 01 January 2006 - 12:54 AM in Overclocking and Cooling

You can probably lower your vcore (i have mine at 1.35v 2.4ghz atm), and set your LDT/FSB to 3x. Those jumped out at me at a quick glance. Did you read the overclocking stickies and all that good stuff? Oh, your power supply is under spec as well... there's a sticky on that also.

LDT/FSB is automatic so it will know its x3, so it makes no difference to change it.

#1119830 Can't overclock

Posted by J054 on 31 December 2005 - 04:46 PM in Overclocking and Cooling

Thanks for that.

I set the divider to 3/4, the voltage to around 1.58 at the HTT to 260.

It booted fine at 2.6ghz and I'm doing the 32m SuperPi test now.

Thanks again,

Tony

Glad to hear that it worked :)
