#1788260 Corsair H50

Posted by mazakman on 09 March 2010 - 06:35 PM in Overclocking and Cooling

I've experience air bubbles with a regular setup from mounting a radiator upside down (air inside rad at the top)

- then i learned how to put stuff together

You've experienced air bubbles because you had no experience at the time...

I hope that Azetek has their act together... if not just mount the damned thing with the hoses up!

There is two ways to delete the message.

First open the message and click delete at the bottom.

Next is view the inbox and clock the white boxes on the right of each message and click delete at the bottom.

Does any of those options for you?

I've tried clicking the white boxes but haven't tried deleting from within the message... let me try it out...

Thanks Dave... it works from within the message... never noticed that lol.

#1788229 Corsair H50

I've seen debate over mounting the radiator. Some say that mounting the tubes on the bottom will create air bubbles in the loop.

Any thoughts?

Have "they" (the some that say) actually seen the bubbles or is this just speculation to ridicule and bash the H50?
By the way... I have my tubes on top but could have mounted the rad so that they would be at the bottom.

#1788222 Naming a baby "Megatron"

Why don't they just call the child 'myparentsareidiots'?

Took the words right out of my mouth... geez!

The H50 is well worth the money... I have it running in an Antec 1200 with a push and pull configuration flowing out the back of the case by using the stock Antec fan and a powerful Delta 120 by 38...
Needless to say I'm extremely satisfied!

What happens when you try to delete a mesage?

I can't select any messages to delete... must be a glitch or something...

I'll try again and see what happens, give me a few minutes here... I'm practically in a wheelchair Bryan lol.

Ok, I can't tag any of the messages so as to delete them... that's how it used to work in the past or am I losing my mind... on second thought don't answer that last part about losing my mind!

#1757930 Heatsink Cleaning

Posted by mazakman on 22 December 2009 - 10:33 AM in Overclocking and Cooling

I'm a smoker so I'll take the heat sink off every 3 to 4 months and basically give the thing a bath using an industrial cleaner that I get from work (pharmaceutical company) but regular dish washing liquid should do the trick as it in most cases it will cut through grease, oils or whatever.

First I'll shower the the heat sink using the vegetable rinser (or whatever you call those things if you have one that is) with hot water in the kitchen sink. Then I'll let it soak in a mixture of hot water and cleaner for a while then rinse it well... does the job every time and comes out spanking clean.

Hope this helps.

#1748750 New router recommendations

Posted by mazakman on 30 November 2009 - 12:21 PM in Networking and Internet

I'll be getting a few of these in a couple of days... one for me and one for a friend:

http://www.directcan...anufacture=ASUS

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16833320031

I'll be setting up mine first then move onto setting up my friend's.

I really hope this works as the price is extremely competitive here in Canada. Got mine at a local computer shop for $66.99CDN each.

#1745587 garbage in pms

Posted by mazakman on 21 November 2009 - 02:40 PM in Site Help & Feedback

I know that at least one other member is experiencing this problem and it sure as hell is annoying...
I've been replying to pms with him and the quotes seem to be screwed up... something that never happened in the past as far as I can remember.
It's rather unnerving when you preview the pm before sending...

Are there any other members experiencing this problem?

#1745547 Looking for a good heatsink.

Posted by mazakman on 21 November 2009 - 11:42 AM in System Builds

H50 is good but TRUE120 would be better.. (And I have no idea about the one recommended just before my post..)

H50 doesn't need the liquid to be changed..

The H50 is a very good cooler if not used with the stock fan and is guaranteed for 2 years.
I have mine set up with 2 fans attached to the rad, an Antec tricool (or whatever the hell they call them... Antec 1200 case) and a 120 by 38 mm Delta hooked up to a fan controller that pushes (pulls in my case... http://forums.overcl...owtopic=168515) well over 140 cfm at maximum settings. It all depends on what you are willing to put up with as far as noise is concerned and how the case and fan configuration will influence the performance of the cooler of choice.

Hope this helps.

Sorry for the double post... I'm on my wife's computer and it's areal POS. :(

#1740701 Just picked up an Antec 1200

Posted by mazakman on 09 November 2009 - 04:00 PM in Cases, Power Supplies and Modding

Well the Thermalright trad2 works on my youngest son's 1950 pro (my old card).
Although the cooler is impressive... I'm less than impressed by the lack of performance of the fans that came with the unit... those Thermalright fans just don't cut it for the hardcore enthusiast.
I'll look around for some Thermaltake 92mm smart fans if they are available... now those should impress me with this cooler! :D
