#1992865 2500k OC

Posted by MJCRO on 21 January 2012 - 07:55 PM in Overclocking and Cooling

Nice you got a Gigabyte board. You should be able to do 4.5 with less than 1.35v easy.

You can disable Overvoltage, Turbo, Power ES, all that stuff. You don't even need LLC enabled either.

Literally I set just the vcore and everything else to Auto, seems to work the best on my UD7.

#1992041 Buying My First Car

Posted by MJCRO on 18 January 2012 - 01:09 PM in OCC Member's Lounge

You obviously don't live in northern Canada :P

For $40,000, you can't afford an high end luxury German car since most of their base models range from $30,000 to $60,000+.

Also everything is an option when considering those cars.

I'd probably just recommend a Subaru Imperza. Great car, decently reliable motor and good gas mileage. The STI model is probably your way to go in the case that you live in northern Canada and get a lot more snow then most in the states.

Also VW provides free service first 3 years or 36,000 miles on any new vehicle.

Pick up a Volkswagen Jetta TDI, the fully loaded one that VW offers has everything inside for around $28k $27k after taxes. Great car and awesome gas mileage.

#1991722 Wireless N speeds a myth?

Posted by MJCRO on 17 January 2012 - 03:41 PM in Networking and Internet

I'd bet you're limited by the crappy chipset in your laptop than anything else. I get over 100 Mbps on my phone over N.

What kind of phone you got!? I honestly get 20Mbps on my iPhone from my Wireless N. Posted Image

#1991131 HDD noises

If the drive is brand new, those are probably normal operation sounds your hearing.
