asus Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 Well, i have never delt with building a new computer with a p4 and 100 types of ram. I use to build systems with p3 and some amd. But not that many. But i am confused about what type of ram i shoul use. There are so many kindes on Newegg.com that i have no idea what is and is not compatable. I have an asus p4p800 Delux mobo. Anybody know of a ram chip the will work good. Im on a budget, maby 120 dollars at the most. I would like 2 256 mb moduiles to use the dubble decker whatchamacallit thingie or better known as dual channel!! But ther is dimm, ddr sdram. What is better, give me a link to a page from newegg.com or somehting like that so i can go there and buy the ram !! Thanks and a special thanks goes out to LinuXproX for un-banning me!! Thank you! InvaderTrax Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 (edited) Well, if you want to go big, get PC3200. That's the fastest, but also the most expensive. If you want to save a few bucks, get some PC2700. It's 77MHz slower, but will save you maybe $30 and can be easily overclocked Edited December 9, 2003 by InvaderTrax
