  1. I am going to reset it then. I'm scared that my PC will go *pop!* Not because it will be destroyed but everyone here might wake up from the noise. It's 3AM here and everyone is asleep. LOL Seriously I'm scared.
  2. I am going to replace my Sempron 140 which is unlocked to Athlon II x2 4400e. But before removing it or replacing anything, do I need to reset the BIOS? Because I remember that unlocking increases voltages or something. I am a bit new to unlocking. I thought of this problem right after disassembling the whole thing. Bottomline: Do I need to reset the BIOS (because it unlocked the Sempron 140) before replacing a new processor? I have a BIostar A780L mobo.
  3. It seems like after all of the effort searching and asking recommendations for upgrading will end up buying a whole new desktop PC... Anyways, I want to thank you all for giving time on replying to this topic.
  4. I won't be pushing the aforementioned Biostar A780L for unlocking anymore What about this instead? A biostar A780L3G but it seems to be a lot better than the previous one And now it really states AM3 socket http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=479
  5. Do actually need to do the overclock process? I thought I will only get stuck on the unlocking thing. I have little to very little idea to overclocking.
  6. Hopefully, the x2 555 alone will be not need unlocking and will be enough for my needs and for the AC3. How about the Biostar motherboard? In the link I gave it indicated on the list of supported CPUs that it supports 125W Phenom x4. Does this mean I'm safe?
  7. So it seems it really is almost aligned with x4 955 when it comes to power. Phenom X4 955 has a TDP of 125W. Will it be the same for the unlocked x2 555 BE?
  8. I tried using the said calculator I don't think it has something to simulate unlocking of cores. Plus, I am not that good choosing the right options for the calculator. And do I still need to overclock it? I thought unlocking with ACC will be enough. Anyways, here is what I gave on the Overclocking section http://s8.postimage.org/o72647c3p/Untitled.png
  9. Hello, I just bought the Phenom II x2 555 BE although it should have been a x4 955. The Phenoms on the stores are all out of stock(some phased out) and this x2 555 BE is the only remaining one in stock. As soon as I get over the warranty limit, I'm planning to unlock it. But I wish to know if the PSU and mobo will make it through. Right now I have an unlocked Sempron 140(unlocked to Athlon II x2 4400e) and I've been using this for almost two years. These are the mobo and video card specs Mobo: Biostar A780L v6.1 http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=472#dl VC: AMD Radeon HD 6750 1GB 2GB DDR2 PSU: A generic 600W Now, if I unlocked Phenom II x2 555 Black Edition which I believe results into a Phenom II x4 955, will one of these PSU suffice for the unlocking of 3rd or fourth core? FSP Hexa 500W http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/fsp-hexa-he500-eff-80-500w.html Antec Neo http://pcx.com.ph/components/power-supplies/antec-neo-eco-520w.html I'm really intrigued by the Assassin's Creed 3. Most people who have high end rigs complain about low fps in Boston but my cousin who has Phenom II x2 555 played it well. He has a GeForce 440 gfx card. Thanks for your time and also, I am open to suggestions. But please understand that I am not that rich to replace everything above I have right now. But am already looking forward to it once I really have the money and if I need to upgrade.
  10. The probelem about x4 955 is that I cannot find one from the stores I have went to. I didn't know that i'ts just pure luck when it comes to unlocking. Do you think the motherboard will not get in the way about watts?
  11. It seems that the Phenom II x2 555 can be unlocked to a Phenom II x4 B65 processor the vid: I have this set-up: Motherboard: Biostar A780L Processor: AMD Sempron 140 unlocked to Athlon II x2 440 Graphix Card: AMD Radeon HD 1GB 6750 RAM: 2GB DDR2 A generic 600W Power supply which I want to replace with a branded FSP Hexa 520W Here is what is shown in cpu-z based on my PC: http://s8.postimage.org/6u4ypgk91/Untitled.png Originally, I am planning to buy a Phenom II x4 955. But I found out that it has been phased out for almost a year now. All I have found so far are Athlon x2 dual cores. I can't believe it. Right now, I have a Sempron unlocked to Athlon II x2 440. So, I though that unlocking Phenom II x2 555 to Phenom II x4 B65 is possible for my mobo provided with the PSU. But I want to hear from you guys especially about safety measures. I am a newbie here but I am aware of the possible consequences that I can face after unlocking. The unlocking of Athlon II x2 440 came from just a video turorial. I hope you understand. If it's not really recommended to unlock it, will the Phenom II x2 555 alone will suffice for playing AC3? I am also staggering for the low fps issue.
  12. So have you tried Assassin I just built this rig 6 months ago, before this I used a phenom 2 550 be for 3 years with 4gb of ddr2 800 mhz and played every game going on medium settings with no problems or lag. If you have read other forums, many people really complain about the low fps of AC3 even if they had a great build. AC3 is causing much different issues compared to other past games I guess. They said that it lacked optimization.
  13. you have an i7 processor. I want to see non-i7 users who 'survived'
  14. The 2GB RAM I have is DDR2. I don't think A780L supports the DDR3. Plus, I only have a 32-bit Win 7. i am also planning to have another 2GB DDR2 if I really need it. By any chance, if you have played Assassin's Creed 3 with little to no problems, can you post your specs here? Thanks
