    Game crashes

Just as a follow up to what I have just said, go to:- http://www.thewindowsclub.com/access-uefi-firmware-settings-windows-8-1 and you will see several people have the same problem as me. Cannot access UEFI in Windows 10! What are Microsoft playing at?

    Game crashes

Hi bp9801 and MikeSoprano, Thanks for your suggestions. I am not qualified to clear the CMOS. I wouldn't know where to start and I understand it would delete my overclocking if I did. I bought my gig as is and wouldn't want to tamper with the innards. Ok with changing a graphics card and memory etc but thats about it I am afraid. It seems that Windows 10 boots so fast the it is impossible for the del or F2 option to work. If there is no other solution perhaps I will go back to Windows 8.1 or even Windows 7 at least I could get into the UEFI bios with those O/S! It would be a shame because I like Windows 10's speed and layout. Anyone else got any ideas on getting into the UEFI bios? Cheers all.

    Game crashes

Hi SpikeSoprano, Greetings from the Uk! Thanks for the suggestion. One problem though - my O/S is Windows 10 Pro 64bit with UEFI bios. Prior to Windows 10, I used F2 to get into my BIOS on bootup. This doesn't happen in Windows 10 so how do I get into my UEFI bios to check re video card? Online it is suggested I hold shift key and restart my computer. This loads recovery options one of which should be as attached image but when I do it on my Pc the option "UEFI Firmware Settings" is not there! Any suggestions as to how I can get into my UEFI bios? Many thanks for your input so far.

    Game crashes

Hi All, When I play computer games such as GTA V and Far Cry 4 my computer randomly crashes. I have the latest Nvidia GPU driver for my GTX 680 card. All Windows 10 updates are up to date. I have tried a safe boot and the same thing happens but I have noticed that when I boot up, I hear the beep from the case and then a square black screen appears with the Windows 10 small circle of revolving white dots as the O/S boots up. It then launches Windows desktop and everything works fine - except my games! I have done a clean install of Windows 10 Pro but my games still crash. What causes this square black screen to appear over the Gigabyte boot screen? My monitor is wide span and I can see the edges of the Gigabyte boot screen behind the black screen for about 30 seconds. Any ideas?. Cheers. My gig runs Windows 10 Pro x64bit clean installed 1st Oct 2015. 5. Hi, Many thanks for the two replies. You are quite correct in your suppositions. I had used the Corsair Tool Box software and must have inadvertantly clicked on something which started to back up/clone my drive. This was curtailed when I shutdown my computer. The problem has now been corrected. Thank you for your prompt replies to my query. chewy21
  6. Hi Yesterday I noticed that my free space on my 250GB Corsair ssd was down to 3.8GB! I ran Windirstat to find out where my space had suddenly gone and it showed that a file named "ssdtool.0.bin" amounted to 63.6GB. Does anyone know what this file/folder is? Is it safe to remove? I changed the folders view option to see hidden files etc and still cannot see this file yet Windirstat says it is in C drive. If I attempt to delete the file using Windirstat I get a warning about removing system files/directories. I have not come across this file/folder before and don't recognise it. Your help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.....................
  7. Hi Bigfwd69, Many thanks for your suggestions. All help and guidance appreciated. Cheers
  8. Hi Red1776, Many thanks for the information and link to the guide. I will bear the information in mind when I go practical. Cheers!
  9. Hi Boinker, I appreciate your comments and the link. I have read through the guide and I am beginning to understand the theory. Now it is just the practical side! Many thanks.
  10. Hi SpeedwayNative, Thanks for the info. I did know how to get into the BIOS. What I was trying to say was once there how do I change the settings? For instance, under AI tweaker tab how do I change the CPU Ratio setting? It seems that Asus auto o/c feature will try to raise the figure from 20 to 21 after I switch the AI Tweaker from Auto to Manual but I may want to alter that auto setting or keep it at 20. I have had a look in the BIOS and cannot see how I can alter this setting. I have been into the BIOS before and changed the way my computer boots but thats as far as my BIOS knowledge goes - so far. Mind you, I am willing to learn and it seems that there are plenty of tutors out there with the knowledge to help me. Thanks for your input.
  11. Hi Red 1776 and Raddave, Many thanks for your replies. As explained I am a complete novice at overclocking and would appreciate you explaining how I do what you suggest I do. Do I need to do this via the BIOS and if so how? Please explain clearly - we all have to start somewhere. I look forward to hearing from you and very much appreciate your assistance.
