Posted by sword_fish on 06 January 2014 - 11:38 PM

i'm typing for a reply but i'm not that fast as you guys up there :P

to sum it all up, this is what in my thoughts;

So honestly? In my opinion don't bother with a video card upgrade at the moment, Do the whole thing at once.

better save then start all over for a new/modern rig imo.

Fair enough one other thing you can consider is using a 3M carbon fiber viynl wrap like swordfish has on his desk. Which also means you can use other bits of left over wrap to wrap components inside the PC to really tie in the PC with the desk.

i've gone nuts with vinyls once again, did something here with my desk just recently :P (my permission to Muchoman for a hitch ;))

that platform where my rig sits used to be painted in matte black;

#2024403 Which type of Flat/Satin Black Paint for a Computer Desk?

Rhino liner makes a great coating if you want your desk to last FOREVER. :lol:

that would be one hell of a desk then :thumbsup:

btw, i'll share some pics what i did with my desk.
i found this thrift shop where i bought it second hand that cheap.

before:

i had second thoughts of re-painting it cause i might be screwed dealing with it's formica finish.
decided to clad it with carbon fiber vinyl sticker instead;

#2016400 help newbie choose a video card

ditch that store bro, browse here and here cause they have much more to offer, and you can save +- hundred bucks somehow.

note the price difference with the corsair TX750M, you cant go wrong with the Antec TP750 @ PHP 4,500 either.

#1987198 Upgrading ram on my ASUS Rampage 2 Extreme MB, need a little help

Posted by sword_fish on 04 January 2012 - 05:57 AM

here's how you will populate your RAM slots:

if you have 4 modules, you have to populate; DIMM_A2, DIMM_A1, DIMM_B1 & DIMM_C1 specifically so that it will run still at triple channel mode.

but i found this strange, that mobo doesn't supports 4GB modules? correct me if i'm wrong :dunno:
