All I really want to do is somehow make them dead so I can benchmark the drive again, once hd tune gets to those blocks the program gives an error and quits running, because it's an external drive and windows won't even give me a smart report. windows for some reason is not marking them as bad. Also I can't get it to partition, if it would I'd just split it to 75/25 % and just use the first 75%.
When you fix a bad sector all it does is tell the drive to avoid those blocks. You can never actually fix a bad sector.
