  1. I just got the Chaintek. In spite of all the bad reviews, I think its a very good deal! No serial ata or raid but its gotta ton of oc features and its pretty as hell! Plus I got yellow cables front control panel and all kinds of other goodies for $80!!!! beat that! only downside is it runs a bit hot but I think its because it uses the processors internal sensor not ann external like my dragon did. Well Dragon had both. Anyway again I think its a great deal!
  2. does new egg not ship to canada? cause man its cheap!!!I think i would find a friend to order and ship it to me if I were you!
  3. I've got a kt600 but its not a MSI. I love it other than the agp/pci lock thing but Im pretty happy with my overclock anyway. My buddy has a MSI kt4v and has had some problems with it like cpu temp is 55 degrees and we cant get it any lower. My motherboard with all his equipment ran at 33 degrees. Then last week his onboard sound went cupoot! I dont think its MSI itself though. I think some people just get bad boards.Or as most electronics companys will tell you "bad handleing". Always use a antistatic strap!lol
  4. I dont think socket 754 will be considered "low" level. Its just earlier technology.Like when you could get a pentium 3 as a soket 370 or a slot1.
  5. Dont have to take it out. If its stock faster than 1.4ghz, Its a socket 478. Any celeron slower(down to 366 mhz) is a socket 370.
  6. I realize you have aready ordered but, I just wanted to add my two cents . My SOYO is serving me very well and when contacted about my "no v-core adjustment" issue, soyo sent me several suggestions about bios updates and even recomendations on third party programs. I love my SOYO! Just my two cents
  7. LOL , I think we all know people like that. I got a buddy that always asks me for advise, never does what i say, then trys to make out like its my fault when something goes wrong! He bought a MSI kt4v at comp usa for $129! after i told him that i could get him the same board for $70. Then when i b...hed him out about it he says he doesnt remember me telling him that Same deal with his processor, ram video card and so on.He's got about $800 dollars in a $500 dollar system now
  8. <<<<Soyo dragon mobo and cheapass spectek ram overclocked and running good for months now.Runs 24-7 too.
  9. si sandra does show agp frequency. Its under mainboard
  10. checksum error is usually a bios problem. try resetting the bios then check the usual suspects; ie ram then cpu. I had the same problem when i tryed to go to high and all i had to do was reset my cmos.
  11. You know the only difference(from what ive read) between a pro and a non pro is that the pro tested for more mhz tolerance from the factory. Thats why they set the clock higher. So I would think that theres not a lot more to gain on a pro card and still stay stable. Just an opinion.Nice oc on the 2500 by the way!
  12. I've got soyo dragon plus and it has a feature that shuts the system down if the fan stops. In the manual it says that there are conflicts with certain processors and to disable this feature in the bios if a problem arises.Maybe your mobo has a similer feature and subsiquent problem? Worth looking into anyway.
  13. I have a soyo dragon plus kt600 and am overclocked to 2.16 on a xp2500.Its serving me well so far but i just wish it was offered with an nf2 chipset!Anyway, I think soyo is a "decent" board but for overclocking next time Ill go with Asus or Gigabyte
  14. Since they are the same chipset, I wonder if i could flash my bios with the ultra dragon's bios?Im goiin to contact soyo and ask about that.thanx for the help.
  15. you say it wont let you change any settings?Look and see if you have something for cpu frequency set to auto. It has to be set to manual to adjust your fsb. Oh and dont forget to disable the SPREAD SPECTRUM unless you want everything overclocked!Hope that helps.
