  1. I was finally able to get the voltage set, but I'm wondering if I'm going about this the wrong way. Voltage on the C2 version I have started at 1.425. I decided to undervolt it to 1.4V when I move it up to 3.7Ghz because I wanted to keep the heat down. I have read in other places that I should be ramping the voltage up to keep things stable. For example to 1.5V for the C2 to get it stable at 4.0Ghz. I did try that but did fail after a short amount of time even at idle. Also can anyone give me a good description of the CPU VID voltage vs the CPU VDDC voltage? I'm trying to figure out which one I should actually be setting. Does anyone have any thoughts? I would really appreciate it!
  2. Well so far I have only been able to get it to 3.7GHz. I tried 3.8Ghz but one of the cores failed. It doesn't seem to be a temp issue. I ran the OverDrive stability test for an hour and was only at less than 45C (at 3.7Ghz) at 1.4V. One issue I'm having right now is that I have the MIS 790FX-GD70 board and I can't seem to figure out how in the Cell Menu to set the CPU VDD Voltage. It is set to Auto, but I can't seem to figure out how to change it. Currently I have the voltage set in AMD OverDrive and i hate doing that in software. I want to get it set right in the BIOS. Anyone have any thoughts?
  3. Do you think one of the early 965BEs that is the 140W (not the later 125W) could overclock that high? Also have they announced what kind of RAM will be used with the new CPUs? Will it still be the same DDR3? Thanks!
  4. I have a AMD Phenom X4 965 and 4GB of RAM. I'm currently looking into some upgrades. I want to move from 4GB of RAM to 8GB. I also was looking at moving to the Phenom X6 1100T. I keep reading about new AMD CPUs, but I'm not seeing any actual release dates. I have also heard about issues that AMD CPUs have issues with 4 sticks of RAM. I don't want to have to replace my 4GB with 8GB. I would like to simply add 4GB more. The RAM is DDR3 1600 and I would rather not have to move it down to 1333 to get 8 to work. Is that still an issue with AMD CPUs or is that just old information? I guess in the end does anyone know for sure when the new CPUs are coming out and are they worth the wait? Thanks! Bella
  5. Pet Peeves hmm.... When my family asks me computer questions... When I do walk my family slowly through how to do something and then EVEN WRITE IT DOWN and then tell me they don't understand their notes... When anyone touches my computer (except my niece when she is sitting in my lap). Did I say when anyone touches my computer? When I finally get something new for my computer and they announce something that is going to replace it the next day!
  6. Honestly as someone else suggested I would go with something larger. I put a 1000W in my rig, but I got a good price on it too. 750W sounds good for a gamer and you shouldn't have issues later.
  7. So you don't think that the 1010T or the 975 would be much of a performance upgrade? As for why the need - mainly for CPU intensive games like EQ2. I like to be able to run multiple instances. I looked up Bulldozer after I read your post. It doesn't look like it will be compatible with my motherboard. From what I read they are going to release AM3+ with Bulldozer. It will allow AM3 and AM2 CPUs to run on it but AM3+ CPUs like Bulldozer won't run on AM3 boards. I hate having to spend money on a new board. (Especially since I don't have much!!!)
  8. I came across the following article the other day when I was looking to upgrade my AMD Phenom II x4 965: AMD perpares new x6 Phenoms Originally I was wondering how much performance increase I would get from going to the 1090T from the 965. Now I am wondering if I should wait for the new CPUs and then if I should go with the 1010T or the 975. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
  9. My thanks to you Savan as well! As for hurting - none of that going on here - I'm simply baffled by why she cares so much. I do have to agree though that this back and forth has been the most interesting thing of the afternoon so far!
  10. is currently frustrated...

  11. LoL you really are a pleasant person aren't you? Maybe you should grow up a little. I'm sorry that I didn't do things in the right order for you. Also just in response to El_Capitan - The other accounts are not me. I'm sure an admin can compare the IPs to confirm that.
  12. What is sad is ripping on someone just because they haven't posted in another thread. I have been actively reading other threads and when I have something to say I will. I am not a pro overclocker. I overclock my AMD Phenom II x4 965 to 3.6Ghz and my memory. I don't push things very hard (can't afford to if I screw it up). If you would like to know I was actually working on a post about upgrading to the 1090T, but that I have also read that the 1010T (the upgrade to the 1090T) should be out soon and that the 975 should be out soon as well so I'm a little torn on if I should wait or should look at getting the 1090T. So anywho - maybe you should know something about someone before making judgment calls.
  13. I would like a beta key as well please!!! Thanks!
