  1. Im having a quite similar problem with my 9800pro too, in windows its stable and nothing bad occurs, but when i play a game, after like 5 Minutes the game freezes and results in rebooting the computer. I dont think my card is overheating, i have an arctic silencer, and have re-applied thermal paste a couple of times. I also have memory heatsinks, and when i touch them they are just warm, not hot. Reinstalling drivers, and even older drivers did not work. I think this card is just dead :/ Unless anyone knows what could be wrong, i've fiddled with fast writes and all that stuff before, no avail
  2. The game's cool if it didnt CRASH The game plays fine (fps wise) while im playing but like after some time the game just freezes and reboots my computer, i have tried alot of things, but it just wont go away. Ive tried reinstalling different graphicscard drivers (with driver cleaner and stuff), resetting bios, reinstalling the game, giving all sorts of devices in my computer extra cooling wondering if its overheating, but nothing. I also tried turning fast write off / on but no avail. If anyone has this problem or knows how to fix it, pls enlighten me thanks (system specs in sig)
  3. Thats a dang sweet rig ! have fun ocing
  4. Go for the AMD system, you wont regret it. That venice processor overclocks so sweetly!
  5. nice oc, didnt know that core could go that far
  6. I used to get my 2200+ @ 2155 mhz stable, but if i went further, everything became unstable (i didnt go over 1.8 vcore)
  7. It was 256 all the time though, but it doenst matter anymore, i did a fresh install and my fps went from 38 to 57
  8. It was oced, and after i reinstalled my video card drivers, i oced it again, nothing really improved. But just to be sure im going to format this weekend anyway. Thanks for your help
  9. Hi, I've recently upgraded my computer from an athlonxp2200+, abit nf7 to an athlon64 3000+(venice), abit ul8. I installed my hardware and all was fine, until i booted up need for speed underground 2, and saw that my fps had dropped from the regular 42 to 38, when i had 42 fps on my old system, i had 4aa and 4af, now i have 2aa and 0af .. Is there something ive done wrong here? I tried playing with my memory timings but nothing improved. Could it be my 3dcard drivers? I reinstalled already to the newest omegas. (the performance in windows and non-gaming applications is great btw) note: i havent formatted when i installed my new hardware, could this be the problem? I refused to format because i didnt want the hassle of backing up all of my files. Thanks in advance.
  10. ok thanks for all the help, ill be ordering myself a new cpu and mobo. good to hear the 9800pro would still kick butt
  11. Hey thanks for the fast reply. I know a better motherboard and cpu would help me alot, but i dont feel like getting for example, an athlonxp 3200+ and then after a while realizing i need a 64bit system to have good performance. So i was thinking of getting the card first, then when the prices for an athlon64 drop a bit, i would build one. But i'm wondering, if i DO buy this, will i see an improvement over my old card, on this system? If not im going to concider building a 64 bit after all.. thanks for your help, glad to see you're (invadertrax) still around after the long time i've been away. REPRESENTING OCC
  12. Hi guys, its been a while since i posted anything around here, but i saw a nice offer on a 6800 (regular version), and im wondering if its worth upgrading from a 9800pro. Im new to the whole "nex-gen" cards, because i never bothered reading about them. So i've been thinking if its worth upgrading my 9800 PRO (128 ddr) to a Gigabyte 6800 silentpipe (256bit, 128 ddr). Oh yeah its AGP, since i dont want to upgrade to PCI-E yet. I've seen more cards that caught my attention, but the price of this 6800 card convinced me. Can you please tell me if this is any good too? I havent found any review of it. Thanks in advance, SkullZ
  13. yeah summer sucks, its ok when its nice and warm (like 68 F). but when it gets hot like 86F i hate it... I keep my window open in my room all constantly, its like 50F in my room.. but i wear alot of sweaters and stuff... i do it to keep my system cool , my cpu doenst seem to go over 83F (166x13.5)
