Thank you for your post. Hopefully if all goes well I will have my new sound card in a little over 3 weeks. As for headsets I use a decent headset as is for gaming and I may continue using headsets because I have found it easier to be immersed in a game with a good headset and this is coming form a guy who used to have a 7.1 sound system.

Depends. Going by that list Dual-Link DVI will carry more bandwidth than HDMI.

Yeah I am out of air right now so I need to buy more plus I will use a dry cloth to take off any excess dust on the GPU fan blades.

I have a Sennheiser PXC 150 headset I use when I am not using a speaker set, that's not a bad headset right there.

I might just bite the bullet and save up for the Z-2300 from Logitech. They are $180 plus taxes where I live but I have herad pretty awesome things said about them.

I have never had a very high quality speaker set but when I went from onboard sound a few years ago to a Audigy 4 (have since sold it) I noticed the difference right away even on my cheap logitech set at the time. Also a sound card allows me to enable EAX which many games won't let me do because of onboard sound. I could always upscale what speaker set I plan to buy.
