  1. that was pretty amasing Gameworks gets a lot of hate but you cannot do the calculations needed for some of these effects cheaply. Not if they are real time animations aware and interacting with the surroundings
  2. I agree. There are many people that dont even overclock. But that information should be out there, no matter what it shows. Many of us posting on tech forums are interested in that kind of stuff. I think its invaluable info. I cant wait to see the OCC fury review!!!!!!
  3. Has anyone heard if the OCC is gonna do any Fury reviews? I like looking at many reviews but the OCC are special to me. I love the overclock vs overclock results here, dont know any place that does it like this one. So will there be any fury reviews? Does anyone know?

    Batman Origins

There is a batman origins contest if anyone is interested. All you have to do is post in this thread and you can win a free game code. http://alienbabeltech.com/abt/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=31807 They randomly pick a winner everyday. It is a small site and there is only a handful entering, so the chances are really good. When i entered it was 1 in 8. I think its like 1 in 10 now. Everyday you post in the thread your re-entered into the pool for the next drawing. I think there are 5 more drawings left. I already won I hope this post doesnt break any rules. Just spreading the love
  7. imagine how great some designs couldve been with just a die shrink and clocked up. Some architectures get left behind that probably would be great with a shrink. like the gf110. Imagine it at 28nm with higher clocks
  8. really wasnt aware of those cards even being out. Most of them are OEM and i havent seen any reviews or heard anyone speak of them. Also with the couple others that arent OEM its the same, i just havent seen anything on them. It is strange because i have seen reviews on the kepler 640 which was the gk107. The OEM 640 is not kepler based. Really the gk107 is a massively cut down card. I would much rather have the GT 645 over the gk107 any day even if it is a rebrand. Anyhow, i have surely been corrected. It wasnt my intentions to be misleading, i just never heard of these cards and thanks to you i have gained the knowledge, As far as rebranding goes, it shouldnt bother anyone. It really isnt all that bad. If there is still a market for a design that a company already has whats the harm in selling it? Its obviously not something enthusisat would want, its old news or whatever, but there are plenty of people who are much more casual and these products can be great for them. If there is still a market for your older designs, you would be a fool not to sell cards there. As for the 660ti, now that the 7950 is so cheap it is way to close to the 660ti price. The 7950 is a gem now. Its very impressive. There still could be a market for the 660ti at its current price, but ultimately AMD has a enthusiast class card priced almost as cheap. The 7950 has lots of pros over the 660ti. Not that the 660ti is chopped liver though, its got a few positives. I just think the 7950 is looking sweeter now than the 660ti. At the cost of higher power consumption and heat though, there are plenty of people who would prefer the sipping watts of a 660ti. Ultimately the overclocking headroom of the 7950 makes its higher power consumption very forgivable, At current prices, AMD rocks. people who are already interested in buying borderlands2 might find the 660ti a great value. It really is if you where gonna spend 60 bucks on that game anyway.
  9. you mean like how AMD has been re-branding the same design from generation to generation but its only nvidia you would have a problem with if they done it? http://www.techpowerup.com/132459/AMD-Rebranding-HD-5770-and-HD-5750-to-HD-6700-Series.html http://www.guru3d.com/news/amd-rebrands-radeon-6670-to-7670/ http://videocardz.com/30148/amd-continues-rebranding-hd6000-to-hd7000-series-five-graphics-cards-released And these are pretty much exact re-brands with nothing added, completely identical. The 5000 series to 7000series. Is AMD "low enough" for you now? Or is it your only looking to go after nvidia? nvidia hasnt re-branded a card for the 600 series, you can put the pitchfork down. As far as rebranding goes, i dont get all the fuss. Not only is it done all the time *by both nvidia and AMD*, its also pretty much happens in the CPU world too. There are straight re-brands and then some tweaked designs with/without die shrinks. I openly welcome the tweaked rebrands, its nice to see architectures evolve. If the design is still competitive in the bracket it will be sold in, how can this really be so terrible? Good designs are good designs. I really dont see what all the fuss is about in the first place. But if your gonna fuss, why go after nvidia when AMD is the only company using re-brands in their current line up?
  10. i imagine he would be playing different games. Batman is ust the one that got him "hooked"
  11. Here are some great deals on the EVGA GTX 560 FTW 448core. its $289.99 and its a factory OC version that is as fast or faster than the stock GTX570. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130738&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Video+Cards-_-EVGA-_-14130738 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1613279&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&cm_mmc_o=VRqCjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300630853072&hlp=false This is a great deal. its like a 570 for 289, it really is. Most of the other cards are priced too high....and they arent even clocked as high. EVGA has a great deal going on and its really easy to recommend this FTW card. Find me 570 for 289 and they would be even. This ftw is 448cores overclocked decently. It will be at least as fast as a 570, its overclock will even put it slightly above the 570 in some cases.
  12. what kinda OC clocks do you get out of your 570s? the evga 560ti 448 ftw models are 797mhz right off the bat, which puts them up there with the GTX570. You can get the ftw GTX560 448 for 289 which is just like getting a 570 for $289. As far as overclocking, its the luck of the draw. So what i am saying is this version of the 560 isnt slower than a 570, its not a bad deal at all. Now if you could fond a 570 for 289, then it wouldnt make a difference. But with a choice between a 570 for 329-349 vs the EVGA 560FTW 448 for $289, well the 560 ftw looks to be a great buy. It will be able to overclock, but it might not reach as high as your 570s, but millage always varies. there are 570s that dont OC very high at all. The 560 448 actually has to be about 6-7% higher than a GTX570 to match it equally. I seen reviews on the he zotac 560ti 448 which runs at 765mhz (a 5% overclock over) and it was nearly identical to the stock 570 in the review.
  13. I dont get it. Its within 6% of the 570 and priced 30-40$ cheaper. Even when both are overclocked the 570 doesnt pull away from the 448 560, it actually closes the gap more. I see no reason to pay 30-40$ more for a card thats barely faster. I cannot see why you would say its not worth it and a 570 is better. Its odd to me. If you buy this factory OC'ed version from evga, its like getting a 570 for $289: http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=012-P3-2066-KR&family=GeForce%20500%20Series%20Family&sw= its a factory overclocked (797mhz) and it actually performs like a 570 or slightly better. You then can still overclock these cards too and gain even more ground. Of course it would be nice if it was cheaper, but they arent priced bad at all. Cards like this factory OC one for 289, well thats even a sweeter deal!!!
  14. could be several things. Because of the person immediatly ruling it out i must say this: PSU is a common place for random system hangs/crash during heavy stress. Just because your PSU is a good brand doesnt mean that its immune to failure. But for your case i would say there are other things that i would focus on first. In any order you like. -take a good look at my temps while the system is in use, gaming, and stressing. there are plenty of stress test out that can stress all sorts of things. Check the memory thoroughly. -You could test the system with just one GPU to see if it is GPU related. If the first fails try the other. if it crashes with both of the them when ran individually then i would be sure its not GPU related. -Clean contacts and re-seat on the motherboard......I have seen once a SATA Cable cause all kinds of troubles, it was causing very random crashes, it was so seldom that it took a long time to pinpoint. I have seen some crazy stuff that you wouldnt ever think of. This is just a few things to look at.
