[FS] x58 PC Part Out

20 November 2013 - 08:57 AM

2.) Asrock x58 Extreme.  No issues, runs perfect in the rig listed in the signature below.      SOLD

- In the near future I will be selling the following items below for those that are interested:

1.) both Unlocked Reference 2GB 6950's - $100 each (Sapphire and Visiontek)

2.) Corsair Performance Pro 128gb SSD - $80

3.) 12gb G.Skill Ram (6x2GB)  - $80

- If anyone has any questions, please let me know.  I will be more than happy to answer them.

Need help with hard drive

01 October 2013 - 05:32 PM

So... I was having one of those days yesterday and to top it off I am in the middle of moving things into my new apartment, one of those things being my htpc. I came back out to the SUV to grab another box to see the htpc had fallen from the car onto the cement. Lots of scratches that can be hidden, broken fan that can be replaced, but of course that can't that simple. Windows from the ssd took a minute initially to boot, but now it appears to be fine, however, one of the three other data drives lost it's assigned drive letters. I changed it back, but it's saying there is no data on there (last time I checked, there was 30gb of 1tb left). Disk Management sees it as RAW as well rather than NTFS (but a healthy primary partition). Never dealt with anything like this before and only having internet on the phone till Friday makes this more frustrating. Anything I should try to attempt to restore my lost por... uh, movies? Or am I SOL and have to reformat? Thanks ahead of time!

[FS] Samsung Droid Charge - Verizon

19 September 2013 - 05:49 AM

Hey guys,

I upgraded to the Galaxy s4 a few months ago and just haven't gotten around to putting the Charge up for sale.  It was less than a month old, recertified refurbished phone from Verizon.  Everything but the rear plate is perfect condition (they don't send a rear plate or battery when getting replacement phones). Battery might need to be replaced as it's 2 years old and doesn't hold a charge like they do new.  It also does not come with a microSD card or charger.  Perfect for anyone needing a cheap Andriod phone.  Asking $40 shipped.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Build for Co-Worker

05 December 2012 - 07:39 AM

My manager (and friend) is wanting to build a PC for his son for Christmas. He showed me what the shop down the road was going to build and it was pathetic for what he was going to be spending on it. I offered to create a build for him for the same money that would be way better than what he would be getting. If you see anywhere that I can save some money, please let me know. I was trying to be as frugal as I could, but still getting decent components. I would say his budget is ~$800 but wants to spend less.

CPU:i5 3570K $169.99
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro4 ATX $69.99
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600 8GB (2x4GB) $39.99
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 660 Ti $269.99
PSU: Corsair CX500 500W $29.99
Case: DiabloTek EVO Midtower ATX (His son wants this one so no changing this) $39.99
Hard Drive: 1TB Seagate Barracuda $69.99
Optical: ASUS 24X DVD Burner $19.99
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $99.99

Total comes out after all rebates and discounts to $808. The question he keeps asking me is how much I am going to charge him to do this. I have never build PC's for anyone and have no idea where to begin money wise. I told him it would take 2 days for me to do this right with memtest86 and Prime95 stability, etc... He wants to buy these parts today so we can have it ready for his son by Christmas. Thanks in advance for the help!

Build for my brother

29 October 2012 - 02:27 PM

This is going to be my brother's first ever PC build. I have tried pointing him in the right direction with some of the parts and what to change. This is a quick build below of what he is thinking about getting. I wanted to get a few more opinions before he pulled the trigger.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
MB: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
CASE: Antec Three Hundred Two ATX Mid Tower Case
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card
PSU: Rosewill Capstone 650W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply (this one got passed me, I will tell him about Corsair or PC P&C PSU's)
COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (I have since told him to look at the self contained water coolers, but this might be enough for him?)
HD1:Crucial M4 128GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
HD2: some 1TB Drive

He is a student so he will get the OS from school, and I was going to pick up a few things at the micro-center to save him money. He is looking to spend around $1k from what he has told me. If anyone has any input, feel free to let me know! Thanks a lot.
