  1. Same here: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19796. I'm rma'ing... what's the correct procedure? just mail it to dfi? FYI, i'm shifting to asus a8n premium, not because i don't believe DFI got a great performance board here but from all the threads i've seen relating to non-posting issue, it seems more like a QC problem. My last board was a nforce 2 board, asus a7n8x and i've never gotten any problem with it. I've heard people said dfi board is hard to set up, but didn't know it's this hard. Kenneth
  2. Alright... tried that as well. Still no post. The board is even outside the case, on a non-conductive foam. No shorting possible. Still no post. That's it. I'm rma'ing this board and getting the a8n premium version. Just have to bite the bullet and go easy on the oc'ing.. and let go that stupid heat pipe. So bye bye... DFI Kenneth
  3. Sorry, it's a koolance chipset cooler (http://www.koolance.com/shop/product_info....&products_id=86)
  4. It got a heat rating of CHC-A05 (MB). Will it be enough to replace the northbridge chip fan? Kenneth
  5. Alright, just got a ocz powerstream 600W. It might be an overkill, but, that's what's what people said when i bought a 430W for for my nforce board. Kenneth
  6. OK, i've tried everything - clear cmos, tried outside case, tried 3 mem modules on bank 2, 24 pin (no adapter). The only thing is i'm having a 430W Antec TruePower. The bare components: mb, chip (3700), 512MB ram, and one 7800. I can't even get it to POST. Actually let me rephrase, it doesn't even start! (the standby light is on, dram power led only on SOMETIMES, but i won't even get the 4 leds to light up) The only thing i can see that is drawing too much power is 7800. But c'mon.. 430W not enough for only 4 components? could it be the board? Kenneth
  7. Well, let's count me in for this problem as well. Except i don't have a 24pin PS. The thing is i've heard that DFI board is hard to set up. I was also considering the asus a8n premium board, but looking at so many people with great OC results and I got a koolance h2o setup, thought DFI would be a good choice. And then, stuck... with 4 leds up. I'm imagining that i won't get this bump if i went with the asus board. But of course they have their own people screaming for help in their official forum about other problems... Kenneth
  8. But those are not power in, they are power out right? they are the power supply for the IDEs and floppy. They are not really used for powering the board. Kenneth
  9. And if i were to buy a new PS, which one should i get? i know i need at least 550, but i'm thinking of going a bit higher. So yes, my PS is a 20 pins. Kenneth
  10. I've tried some, but not cmos clearing, and outside the case. One question though, why are the 4 pins molex and floppy power connector required to be plugged? Kenneth
  11. I can see that, but with only the bare minimum configuration, it should at least post. shouldn't it ?
  12. Yes, I do. All four. although other than the main power and the 12V, i can't see why i need to plug floppy and the 4 pin molex connector. One thing though - the dram power led sometimes comes on and sometimes off when i plug the main power in. But i've only gotten the ram, video card, and chip in it. But still doesn't post. Kenneth
  13. Just got this board.. How do i tell what bios my board comes in? 'cause it's not posting and it's stuck at 4 leds (CPU not detected) I got an SD 3700 and because the board doesn't support it until 6/10, i'm suspecting that it's not recognizing the chip. The thing is if i can't post, how do i update teh bios??? Thanks, Kenneth
  14. what do i do to make it single channel ? Is there a bios setting for that ?
