  1. Well, its usually unstable parts which cause the lower scores, ie you think the cpu is stable because it completes certain benchmarks, but it is in fact having to redo calculations (losing efficiency) and lowering the scores. looking at your voltages, you seem to be running enough juice through the ram, chipset and processor so that shouldnt be the problem, although i would keep the RAM vDIMM at 2.8 rather than 2.9. Also, if you have CS Source, run the stress test. this is a better real world indication. you may want to back down on the settings and see if the same thing happens at lower settings too
  2. hmm that seems cool... i read somewhere that RAM @ 2-2-2-8 @ 200 is faster than 3-4-4-8 timings up until 280mhz and even then its iffy. but i think ill risk it and pick up these G.Skill HZ chips anyhow. oh and.. as for the Samsung UCCC, are the overclocks getting better with time, as new batches come out?
  3. woah really? you mean that the 3-4-4-8 is actually just playing safe, and they can do 3-3-3-8 at 250mhz? if so, Fantastic! theyll be the ones i get coz it was the timings that were really holding me back.. they use the Samsung UCCC chips right right?
  4. Hi Guys, Ive been doing a lot of research on the 2x1GB sticks of RAM lately and had originally planned to get the OCZ PC4000 Platinum EB 3-3-2-8 RAM but thats got supply issues.... then when cruising through the Xtremesystems forums i noticed that the Crucial Ballistix Z503 RAM was performing really well, better than the OCZ EB stuff... then, further research into this here at DFI street and XS saw that the RAM was having premature deaths and many people having RMA'd the things 3 times over. So, doing more research i heard about the new G.Skill sticks, the HZ (3-4-4-8 @ DDR500) and the ZX (2.5-3-2-8 @ DDR400) and i think these two would be the best value for money while providing pretty high end performance, and AFAIK the HZ clocks higher but on those loose timings whereas the ZX are more of hit or miss, but can offer the potential to go really high if theyre good. Opinions about this RAM would perform would be great. Cliffs: Looking for 2x1gb sticks Narrowed down to G.Skill HZ and ZX i will overclock Open to new suggestions if there is anything better
