  1. I have a Blood Iron that has had the north bridge heatsink removed and reattached so the sticker is gone which means no longer under warranty. $80.00 shipped if you are interested. I no longer use paypal. My ebay id is fourofsix
  2. Sounds logical rado..I'll try some thin paper washers. Yes I knew it was aluminum but I really liked the design for a closed loop on the card only. Thx.
  3. I put the koolance waterblock on and it wont work...I put the original heatsink and it fires right up..twice now. I tried hooking the fan to it to see if that was it. I have examined carefully to see that it was seated correctly. No go. What gives ?
  4. While I am biased towards that brand psu this is not the only reason I say this. I work at a concrete plant loading trucks. Everything is computerized and I operate the computer. It is a modern setup with get this..a 486 proc..the thing looks like a mainframe and runs a customized batch program with a dos kernal. A few months ago it started shutting down and rebooting in the middle of batching and I would hafta finish the load out manually. This went on for about a month about 1 to 2 times per day. They know I like computers so they say what do you think it is ? I say not sure but my guess is power supply. We open it up put in a spare and have not had the problem for 3 months now. And it's just a little 250w Lots of people used to down this site for hollering power supply all the time. I say Whatever !! Again I am saying don't know if thats it..just saying it's something I would be suspect of. I been fooling with computers ever since my Mac LCII and to me shutting down or rebooting is a classic symptom of a bad power supply. It could be temps as well but I'm pretty sure you're watching those.
  5. I have a blood iron with a e6750..it's clocked to 3.4..8 multi and kicks the multi down to 6 when idle at 2550. it kicks the voltage down as well. Passes prime for as long as you want. I love it
  6. For it to just restart like that... My vote is the power supply is crap. But hey that's just my opinion..You got 4 Hd drives...? cd drives..a Q6600..I'm guessin a water pump..a power hungry board...an 8800gt..a sound card and a brand of PSU that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. But like I said that's just my opinion.
  7. Then you got the people like me that likes to take the tried and true parts at rock bottom prices and overclock the snot out of em. I mean c'mon $300.00 for a Motherboard...I don't think so..and I can afford it. If not for this website I wouldn't be running the rig in my sig. Thx Happy...um Angry.
  8. I forgot to mention that I got the card in my sig awhile back for 120.00 shipped from the egg with a free copy of Ghost Recon 2. For some reason it's 139.99 right now http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102102 What's up with that ?
  9. The lowest price to do the same job...amen brother. The video card in my sig has no problem running Bioshock. Everything I buy is being phased out or on sale or dirt cheap or used. It's all about the lowest price and still work for me. Am really tempted to go for one of these and a copy of crysis. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814102714
  10. 1 ide will run 2 devices just make sure they are jumpered properly.
  11. Maybe the catfight between intel and nvidia will stall things long enuf for amd to get back up and dust off a little bit. We really need amd to shine at some point to keep intel from gougin us.
  12. I put mine back on for a short time until I got my waterblock cause the stock heatsink didn't make good contact. All I did was let the pressure of the heatsink hold it on. Worked Great
  13. The more I read about the direction that Amd is headed the more I am impressed. Say you got an intel 4 core runnin at 4ghz..Are you using the full potential of it or are you just revvin your engine..Kinda like havin a race car thats not street legal. While on the other hand Amd seems to be focusing on graphics and getting the full potential out of everything without a lot of voltage being used. I don't know..maybe I am a fanboy
  14. I can't help but wonder if Amd is holding back on purpose...Kinda waitin for Intel to put their best stuff out and then BAM..In your face Intel. Now don't get me wrong I'm not an Amd fanboy..I'm typing this on an e6750 running at 3.4 that I own as well as the rig in my sig. I know a lot of folks don't care for tom's hardware but has anyone seen this http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/11/19/the...weaves_its_web/ with 4 video cards runnin...that is just way cool.
  15. Great rant Angry.. I can't tell the future but can anyone see amd making a comeback sometime in the future since they own crossfire now and can tell nvidia to shove it ? I'm thinkin Intel would love to own nvidia but the price is outrageous as well as their licensing fees. I don't see any new sli boards...Is this the beginning of the death of sli ? unless Intel or nvidia gets off their high horse ? This is of course all speculation on my part ?
