  1. Hey guys, I posted this in someone elses thread a while back and want to ask again in case a few of you more knowledgeable types missed it Can the jumpers be set to SLI on a non sli board (nf4 ultra-d). I want to run my x1900gt in slot 2 but when I set the jumpers, I can't boot with card in slot 2. Switch to slot one and PCI-E config in bios tells me pci slots are "NC NC X8 X2" Any ideas? bb

  3. did u make any system changes / bios updates just before these BF2 errors occured? There are alot of threads on the EA forums where people have just started getting the sanity errors. I've read that it could be something to do with SATA drivers. Have a quick google along those lines and see what u come up with bb
  4. Is there still an issue removing chipset drivers if you have the sw ide driver installed? I'd like to try out the later betas but don't want to unintstall 5.10 and then find my PC won;t boot bb
  5. Write speeds are always slow wit raid0 setups. I've seen worse HD Tach graphs than that. It doesn't mean anything IMO. So long as your CPU utilizations is low, your response times and avg speeds are close to whats expected (and urs seem to be) then I wouldn't worry. bb
  6. This might sound obvious but have you got v-synch/aa/af all turned off in the driver control panel? bb
  7. hmmm..nice suggestion mate. I relaxed the timings a bit to 2-3-3-8, set DS reduction to 50% and I've memtested fine in windows to 300% I have to use the orange slots because the booster will only fit in the furtherest yellow one. Sandra gives me a score of 6839/6760 so I'd be happy if I couldn't get it any tighter. I'll keep trying tho. bobyjo: I don;t think it is a mem problem to honest - I've had these modules running at 250 1T in a KT800pro board and I know that memtest has it's faults but if I can loop test 5 for over 10 hours at 250 1T with no errors then I should be at least able to get to the desktop at 239 1T. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm going to keep pushing it and see where I get bb
  8. yeah mate, when I said it blue screened when set to 1T, what I meant was that I'd left it on auto and noticed that it was defaulting to 1T. It blue screened just before I got to the desktop tho so I had to manually set to 2T to get XP going. I'd love to know what the OS doesn't like about it! bb
  9. Just updated the sig to reflect what's happening now. I'm putting 3.4v into the dimms. I've had them looping memtest86 test 5 for over 10 hours at 2-2-2-5 1T with no errors. But even at 239, I can't get anywhere near the windows desktop with them. bb
  10. Well, I managed to load 711 and get it to save a few bios changes so that I'm now at my previously stable 292x9 Ram@166(239) 2-2-2-5 2T LDTx3 AGPx67 CPU is at 1.475 in bios and 1.44 in MBM chipset 1.75. I've had no luck with 1T tho. Ram does 1T no probs in memtest up to 255mhz but I get a BSOD when trying to get into windows with it at 239. Can't even start up in safe mode. Anybody wondering how I got the bios to save - I used a combination of bruteforce flash 10 times and rodan's guide. I had to do a few resets but I got there in the end. If anyone has any 1T suggestions, please send them my way bb
  11. WHich SATA ports are you using? The ones closest to the CPU? bb
  12. Well dude, chalk another one up for urself - that seems to have done the trick. I've been stable for +5hrs which was simply impossible a few nights back. I don't know if I'm game to try 705/711 again. I probably will tho...I really want to get 1T out of this memory! Thanks mate bb
  13. as if you'd try and remove a hsf cold from a CPU with an IHS SaFrOuT has the right idea. Let it get nice and warm then it comes off easy. Ur all idiots Actually, I've done it myself once :"> Just kidding guys bb
  14. Some people have reported solving the stuttering issue by not using 77.xx series drivers. Use 71.xx instead and see how you go. Disabling fastwrites has also helped some. bb
  15. nope...no mods to the board and the stock HSF seems to go alright. U might have to lower ur CPU multi to get above 300. Maybe give that a go if u haven't already. bb
