  1. yeah, i mean, im going to run solidworks more than fsx, but ive read up a little and it seems that the quadro cards are complete crap for gaming, while the 8800gtx is somewhat decent for solidworks, and other 3d design stuff, and im sure ill be adding on more games as the time goes by, but my main interest as of right now would be fsx
  2. theres mainly only two graphics intensive programs that i plan on running(im sure i will add more) but the two are flight simulator x, and solidworks, the solidworks is the reason i was thinking of 4 gigs of ram and the two cards
  3. yeah, the case doesnt really matter to me, i just dont wanna drop 300 on a case that would work just as well as a 200 dollar case, but im going to go see my local custom computer maker and see what they think about what case, i dont wanna go with liquid cooling cauz it just seems too much of a hassle for me
  4. yeah, everything that i have read says that evga's mobo is the best out there right now for sli, and the ram brand doesnt matter to me, and also, ive heard from numerous people that the quad cores arent really worth it right now, they are good for business type stuff, but not good for gaming, and the dual cores are all around better

  7. in about two months, i am going to buy a new custom pc, the specs are planned to be: x6800 extreme core 2 duo 2.93 ghz processor Gigabyte 965P-S3 Motherboard; featuring the Intel 965P Chipset with Native DDR2-800 ATI Radeon 1950XTX 512MB Gigabyte 3D Aurora case 2GB of Mushkin DDR2-6400 with either media center or vista there are two programs that i will mainly be running, solidworks, and flight simulator x would it be worth it to overclock my processor, graphics card etc? or would it just be a waste? if it would be worth it, could anyone explain to me exactly how i would go about doing this? what programs can i get to check stability and temp stuff? about how much could i overclock it? the general stuff the reason i ask is because i dont want to risk frying my processor if i dont have to thanks
