  1. I sure will Dynamic and I cannot thank you enough for your great advice..
  2. Thank you Dynamic for your input. I will stick to the 60Hz Samsung that I have and install the GTX 760 for now and see how it plays out. Not really concerned about the 144Hz for the time being. I will get the best power supply that I can afford because I know that is the heart of the system and I do not want it to fail and take everything out with it. What I am really looking forward to is fallout 4 on this new system. I can play it now but I am sure I am not seeing it in all its glory. I have had not one issue with the PC Power& Cooling that I had for over 5 years, so I might look into that brand again. And I really want to go modular this time for less clutter. I will take a step up for all the Antec 900 cases and found this just what I was looking for. Case.. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147107 Power supply.. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4H81E87666 or maybe the EVGA since it got better reviews..... https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438018
  3. This will be a new rig for me at Christmas. I am still working with my e8400 dual core with a DFI P-35 mother board. It has served me well for many years but I feel I need a change. A friend at work wants to sell me a i7-4790 Devil's Canyon with 32 gig of Corsair vengeance on a Gigabyte GA-Z97X motherboard..everything for $200. I feel this is a very good deal...almost a steal. I am a gamer and the newer games are taxing my system. He also said I should upgrade to a 144 hz monitor. I know this is a 1150 socket and the newer ones are 1151. All I would have to get is a new power supply and case to build it. I think for now my GPU EVGA GTX 760 will work fine. Just wanted your thoughts..thank you for any advise. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JKCHDEU/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_c_KVIKzbJ9YAVK5 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=9SIAE7U6225272
  4. Found one for the Intel.... Dan.Looks to be the sandy bridge CPU. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrsPzbUJwl8
  5. I thought this was a very interesting watch. Hope you do too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvluuAIiA50&feature=youtu.be
  6. Certified Geek... Spike Soprano......the latest bios is NOT installed. I forgot to do that one. Did not know that would make a difference but I will try it...thank you.
  7. My neighbor has an Acer Aspire 5570Z laptop. She had Vista in it and she hated Vista. I installed Windows 7 in it for her and found all the drivers she needed at the Acer website. When I go to device manager there are no cautions. When the lappy is first turned on and booted it has no internet. Either wireless or hard wired with the cat5 cable. If I reboot it the internet shows up in the wireless or hard wired connection. If she turns the laptop off and starts it up again the next day, there is no internet? If she reboots it one time it will find the internet connection. I have never run into this before. Any suggestions from here will be very much appreciated. This problem is driving me crazy.....thank you.
  8. I thought this was an interesting watch.
  9. I have to find a microcenter near me. The i7 at NewEgg has the Iron Egg guarantee so I should send them the link to microcenter and see if they will match their price? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501 I am also looking at the i5 3570. It got a lot of great reviews and it runs almost as fast but its $100 cheaper then the i7. I am only a gamer and do no multitasking or video rendering so I just might think about that 3570 a little bit more. And with the money saved I could put it towards a mean and powerful video card....
  10. Nice find. Its still $320 at NewEgg. Sure looks inviting at $250. Thanks for posting that link.
  11. O&F....Just wondering what you decided on? I am in the same boat. e8400....DFI LP LT P35-T2R. I am ready to upgrade to an i7 very soon. I am an avid gamer and would like to play the new games in all their glory. The e8400 and DFI board have treated me very well all these years. Never had any issues with that setup. I am always reading the reviews on motherboards at "The Egg" and have not found one that really shines out yet. A lot of the reviews I am reading on NewEgg say DOA.....DOA...DOA. An that is on all the brands MSI, ASRock, ASUS, and Gigabyte. What happened to quality control at these company's?
  12. Thanks to CPU-Z I found I am running dual channel......
  13. Thanks all for your help. Will download CPU-Z tonight and let you know the results. p.s. Thank you Ray Mark. I did find the users manual at the Acer web site. Should have tried there first..
  14. A friend gave me a Acer Veriton VT6800-50188 computer. This will make a great web browser for the wife. It had a bad power supply but that was an easy fix because I had a few new ones laying around. I bought new memory for it (G.Skill dual channel) 2 one gig sticks. The mother board is an Acer MS-7284 ver. 1.2....I have tried for over 2 hours tonight to find a users manual for it with no luck at all. The one place that I did find wanted me to take a survey..no thanks to that. It has 4 memory sockets, 2 blue and 2 black. I have one stick in each of the blue sockets and am not sure if it is running in dual channel or not. There is a blue socket closest to the CPU and a black socket next to it. Then another blue socket and black socket. Would I be correct in assuming that one channel is blue and one black? That would mean that I have to have one stick in a blue and one stick in a black to run in dual channel. Darn, I wish I could have found a manual so I would not have to ask this silly question. Any help will be much appreciated..
  15. Thank you so much wevsspot and all others that helped. The wife gave me the extra $100 so I will go with the Evga GTX560ti. Thank you to all the other members that recommended the ATI cards too. I appreciate your time and effort.
