  1. Wow! That is a nice mobo, looks like what I need. Well thanks bro for helping me out and to everyone who gave me some advice. I hope this thread helped a few other people as well. Also, not to be picky, but are there any mobos that are similar with more than one pci slot. I will be looking for one myself. Thanks for the trouble.
  2. Well my budget is about 1000 dollars, but I would like to spend a little less than that. Anyways I saw some conroes on newegg.com for pretty cheap, the mother board is what is getting to me, I havent found many good mobos for conroe under 250, and for the AMD cpu's you got great mobos.
  3. Well there are probably many topics on this site just like this one, but give me a chance. I am planing on building a new computer and the big question now is, what processor, AMD dual core or the new intel. I looked at the intel core duo and it does look promising but the motherboards are questionable, no SLI, is SLI even worth it? Plus I like AMD and I know how well the AMD dual-core works, plus some very good and reasonably cheap mobos are out for it. Sorry for ranting but I would love to hear some of your comments and hopefully I will make a decsion with your help. PS This will be a gaming machine
  4. Well I reformatted my harddrive, and thats always a pain in the a**. Anyways I got rid of the choppy moments. So I am guessing that it was a bad driver, I think it was the mobo driver. But my card kinda "blew up". The same time my cousin did and he fixed it with some trouble shooting and told me what to do. It might be a power problem, like you have one plug n with multiply plugs for the hd and video card or whatever. Well make sure you have one plug pluged into the video card and to nothing else. NOTHING ELSE.
  5. Well, I do have another stick of ram laying around. It is 512, but for some reason i dont think its a ram problem. I think it maybe the mobo driver or something like that.
  6. ok, we should stay intouch then bloodysunday, i am going to put a new heatsink on, maybe that will help, and i have 512 mb ddr and 128 on video card, i dont think that is a problem. Maybe curropted data on the harddrive.
  7. well I have a new video card, agp XFX 6800 128 mb, and I still get like a choppy moment during game play. Its more like a "mini freeze" it makes a stutering sound and it freezes and some lag issues. I am wondering if my processor is over heating or if something is wrong with the BIOS settings. I have the latest card driver and direct x driver. PLEASE HELP ME.
  8. I bought a XFX 6800, a Thermaltake silent boost ( a fan just incase yall dont knows) arctic silver, and a new power supply 500watts. I installed everything with ease, but when I turn on my Computer nothing comes on the screen of the monitor. And the master drive of the slave drive wont open. I first thought it was my video card but i pluged in my old one and it didn't work. I cleaned out my AGP slot. And yes everything is compatiable. But i think its my power supply. Its a weird problem- I have never seen anything like it before. I really need some help. Anyone. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
  9. My cousin has an eVGA 6800. It just got fried one day, maybe cuzz of a lot of static in the weather during the storm, and he cant get any refunds. Do any of you have any ideas.
