Do you have the audio enabled in the BIOS and are the audio devices being displayed in XP's device manager correctly? Have you tried using headphones? Do you have digital output selected in the audio mixer?

The audio shows up correctly on the device manager. I have tried both drivers from NVIDIA and Realtek with no luck.

At this point, I ONLY have the 2 power connectors and the front panel connectors (except the speaker connector b/c I dont have one) plugged into the my mobo...is this okay?

I'll check out the bios option and the headphones right now. Thanks!

Yup, 2 jumpers at those positions, they take the place of where your front audio connectors would go,if you used them

Thank You, it worked. You rock!

DFI didn't put any jumpers in place for my audio either. Got a few bald spots on my head as this seems like a recent board build problem. I could not find an answer as this thread discusses.

I had this problem too with my mobo. I updated the drivers using MS Update and then it the onboard sound didnt work. Thats why i hate auto update for microsoft products. try using the original drivers instead. Just a thought
