jsbond007 Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Is there anyway of measuring memory temperatures?
Vista Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 You can stick a sensor on them (little thermocouple thing) and read them remotely. You can stick your finger on them and get a rough idea for $0. More expensive options are IR sensors, etc. I don't know how hot RAM can get, I suppose not much more than your CPU is good though. spdiscus Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I measure mine via temperature probe attached to my case's front display. I don't think there are any software monitors.
Dexx Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 If it burns your finger (ie cant hold it for more than a second) then its too hot.
Smoken Joe Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 If it is more than a little warm to touch I would want to fix it ASAP. Be carfull sticking your fingers places you can burn yourself if you are not carfull. The only memory that monitors it is the BLIN BLIN memory by corsair- not my first pic of makers for this board to say the least. demonR6 Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 An 80mm fan mounted on a bracket blowing air across them would run you under $10 and allow for a margin of safety and comfort without having to install temp sensors and probes etc.
