it's not possible bro---

from what i have done, read and understood/overheard, it can not be done and WINDOWS must be installed first in order to perform the dual boot. I may be wrong but i am 75% sure that i am right..

As long as you have a non Linux partition Installing windows 2nd will work.. Ive dont it with red hat before when i acidently Installed Lilo lol..

the windows b00t will take over and you will need the redhat boot disk to get in to redhat is all..

I dunno.. thats what I was doing..

  • 1 month later...

i dual booted with mandrake and XP, it wasnt hard im not sure about 2k but i know i was running ntfs i just partitioned it 50/50 and used a boot management program to set which partition to boot to, be cautious though my system was only stable for about a week, then linux crashed and i accidentally formatted the windows partition to be a linux partition and lost about 32.7 gigs of mp3s, very sad about that! so yea im sure it can be done but be very carefull and i would recomend 2 different harddrives instead of one partitioned!
