Amd 64 X2 4400 Vs 4800?

Recommended Posts

 i was just looking these two chips over on newegg. they are both based off of the toledo core, and both offer the 1mb cache per core..only differences that i noticed was the 300+$$$ price difference and the 200 mhz clock speed...am i missing anything here? if those are the only differences i think my decision is to go w/ the 4400 and just bump the speed up a bit.anyone got any opinions?

I personaly think you'll be fine with a 4400. Its like the 4000+ and the FX-55, there isn't that huge of a difference, but there sure is a price one. You'll do good with the 4400, unless youre planning to be using your rig for a long time, that what the 4800 basically does, makes you set for a good amount of time.

This wouldn't be overclockers club if no-one overclocked, of course you can. So you good? you getting the 4400 and overclocking it?

go with the 4400.....all you are paying for is 200Mhz higher clock speed.

you can easily oc that cpu beyond the 4800....i have my X2 3800 running 2.6 rock solid stable, on dfi mobo, and i bought my cpu for 300.00
